"This is the stupidest plan we have ever come up with." I murmured as I walked down the street holding hands with Drew.

"Hey, I'm not happy about this either. I don't want to be seen with you!" Drew retorted.

Rage burned inside me. "It's not like you'd know anyone in this small town."

As if on cue a boy wearing a varsity football jacket walked by, "Hey looser. Who's the hottie?" He jeered as we walked past. Drew lowered his head.

"How did that guy know you?" I asked looking over my shoulder.

"Don't look back, that will only encourage them more." He said speeding up his pace a bit so that he had to drag me behind him.

"Hello? Earth to Drew!" I repeat, "How does that guy know you?"

Drew sighed, "I didn't know you were talking about this town... I used to live here... back when my parents were alive."

I stared at him in shock "Is there anything else I should know?" I snapped.

"Um, well I sort of have a girlfriend... who lives here." He pulled his hand away from mine, and I instantly missed the feeling of his hand against mine.

After I'd shaken that insane thought out of my head I pressed a finger to the communication device in my ear. "Rock, we have a small problem." I murmured. "This used to be Drew's hometown and guess what? ... He has a girlfriend."

"Her dad owns the bank."

I dropped my finger. "I swear to god... Is there anything else you forgot to mention? Let me guess, she works at the bank too?" He broke eye contact, suddenly finding that kicking a rock along the sidewalk much more interesting. My mouth hung open. "Oh my god!"

"It wasn't my idea to come along."

"Ha! As if that makes it any better! We have several operations going on simultaneously. The plan relies solely on us all attacking at once. There was no one avaliable to babysit you, so you were roped in with me. And now I have to tell Rock that the whole plan is ruined because he decided to make me guard a newbie!"

"I can talk to him if you want me to." He offered.

"No, I'll do it. He'll probably be mad."

To my suprise, he took the whole situation better than I'd expected.

"That's too bad. Oh well. It was a good plan while it lasted, we'll just have to wing it." He let out a static sigh. "We're in desperate need of money so this mission is important. Make something up. I don't care what, as long as it works. I have to go, Rat went and hid in a garbage can and won't come out." Rock hung up.

I sighed and turned to Drew, "We're on our own." I reported sullenly.

"Great," he said glumly. "Got any ideas?"

"Nope," I said truthfully. "We're just going to have to wing it."

------------------------------

"No one will believe us." Drew said as we stared at the menacing doors of the bank.

"They will as long as you don't falter or start a lying fight." I shrugged.

"What do you mean a lying fight?" Drew asked cautiously.

"God, how do I explain this? ... um, let's say were pretending to be married to make one of your ex's feel jealous. But then as you talk to her you realize how much you want her back so you start sort of flirting with her. I see you flirting with her and let's pretend that somehow I have a crush on you, so I lie and say that I'm pregnant with your baby which turns her off more. You then get mad at me because I lied so you say that I shouldn't be a mother because I get drunk and beat you all of the time. That keeps going on until your ex-girlfriend leaves because she thinks we're a bunch of freaks or until she realizes that it was a lie." I finished, out of breath from talking as quickly as I could.
