''I. ..I lied to you''

''What do you mean? ''

''I have an elder sister''

''What? But why. ..''

''She is a sensitive topic and not someone I mention to anyone''

''Oh, I see'' so she won't find out after all?

''One day, my dad was fired by the company he worked for, The Frosts' Corporation. Then, only a month or so later we found out my mother had a cancer,'' Ellie nodded her head while he swallowed.

''She got worse every day to the point that she had to be hospitalized. My dad worked every job he found but it wasn't enough. My sister is only a year older than me. She quit school to find a job in the city. There wasn't much work for a high school dropout. She got a waitress' job at some club and she sent most of her money. It wasn't much but she still did it. There, she met him...''

''Him?''

''Archer" Ellie's heart thudded for some reason.

"She called everyday to tell us about him. She was in love like crazy. .''

''Then, what happened?'' She swallowed.

''At first, she resisted as she knew the risk. But then, Archer was so nice to her, helping her at every turn and making promises. But, he had quite a reputation there. But he kept telling her the cliché thing. He's changing for her. She was so innocent, so naive. That's when things got serious'' He took a deep breath.

"She gave him the thing he wanted, her purity. Then, after that, she called only a few times. It turned out that he began avoiding and ignoring her after that night. He acted like nothing happened...then one day, she found him banging another girl at the same club she worked at''

Ellie gasped loudly. ''She was so heartbroken that she completely changed and never came home again''

''But, what about your mother?"

''That didn't go well for my mom's condition''

''Did she contact you again? Do you know why?"

''No. I found out later from one of her old friend that the only reason she didn't come back because Archer had evidence''

''What kind of evidence?'' She whispered with a shaking voice.

''Evidence good enough to ruin her, good enough to blackmail her. She was so ashamed and scared that she didn't wanted to bring it close to her. So, she stayed away'' he closed his eyes to block the tears. Ellie eyes welled up with tears too. It was such a sad thing. Isaac had gone through a lot.

''I wish there was some way I could help you" she sniffed.

''Only if someone could steal the evidence''

''But we are talking about Archer. I don't think anyone is capable of fooling him. It would be a bad thing if he finds out''

''That's why we need his girlfriend''

''Really? How will that help? ''

''He'll let his guard down around her and maybe she'll be able to do the job''

''Um..Archer has a girlfriend? ''

''No. I don't think so that's why we need a fake one''

Ellie was so confused to the point that it nearly irritated her. She didn't really know how it was connected to his sister anymore. But it would be rude to point it out so she stayed silent.

As if reading her expression, ''If we find a fake girlfriend, she'll not fall for him and will make the plans easier. Besides, she'll win his heart and it'll teach Archer how much it hurts to be played around like a doll and thrown away''

Her eyes widen, he treats others like dolls, too? But for some reason it was hard for Ellie to imagine Archer doing those bad things to Isaac's sister. Maybe it was due to the face that she believes and sees the goodness in everyone's heart. She doesn't think she had seen that in Archer from the way he treated her. Yet, she hoped. But, surely, 'proud and almighty' Archer wouldn't stoop that low? Then, again, she didn't know him well.

''But why did they beat you up? It doesn't make sense.''

''I know too much''

''But, that doesn't give-''

''Ellie there is only one girl who's capable of pulling the plan off'' he looked at her with pleading eyes.

She swallowed, ''Who?''

''You''

''What!? That's unbelievable. He hates me with passion. There's no way he'll even accept me''

''Do you trust me?''

''Yes''

''Then, believe me when I say he'll accept you in an instant''

''I-I'm sorry..I can't. I'd like to but I'm not the one'' She didn't want to tell him that the plan was a bit harsh. Even for Archer. And a bit too cliché. She decided to keep her rude thoughts to herself, ''I can try looking for that evidence but the other part? I can't.''

''Ellie, please. Just consider it. Think of all his victims. We could save his future victims too. We can't let a man as heartless as him do these things''

Ellie bit her lips. She was a natural pleaser and always found it hard to say 'no' to someone. She always gave in at the end most of the time even when she said, ' no'. But, this was just...

''I'm so sorry, Isaac, I'm sorry''

He closed his eyes as if he's in pain. "No. It's okay. I shouldn't have told you all those things. No one never really believes it anyway. It's my fault, not yours'' Has she broken his trust?

''Isaac.''

''Just let me be for awhile'' he whispered.

''But, your injuries''

''I'll be fine in few minutes. Go'' He smiled weakly and refused to meet her eyes. Ellie left him with hesitation and guilt.
