Ellie's birthday was coming up the next day and she was also thrilled to hear from Tori 5 hours ago, telling her that they won the Championship. They were officially the winner of Girl's Basketball State Tournament. The school is going to throw party for the team on the night of her birthday so they were given holiday as the preparation was made.
Archer hadn't come over making her restless; she was so used to being with him that she was totally aware of her surroundings when he's not around so she distract herself by baking. She shook her head when she realized that she was becoming obsessed with him.
She had come to realized that Archer liked caramel flavor a lot so she baked cookies for him too. Maybe she'll go over and give it to him while checking if he's okay. He's living alone so there'll be no one to notice if he's sick! That makes her wonder for the first time, who cooks dinner for him?
After the cookies cooled down, she lifted the plate and walked over to his house. Just as she stepped on his porch, she heard voices inside. People talking, maybe Mr and Mrs McCarty were back.
The door was slightly open but before she knocked she heard crashes inside followed by a man shouting, threatening whoever he talked to, that made her barge in quickly forgetting modesty in her worried state.
She walked in the living room to see Mr. and Mrs. Frost making her eyes widen. What the heck is going on!
Their eyes turned to her when they heard her enter, Mrs. Frost looking pissed, her beautiful face showing disgust and displeasure but Ellie knew it wasn't directed on her.
Mr. Frost stood there, his eyes hard and face void of any emotion. Being a successful businessman, he sure knows how to hide it by now.
But, Ellie ignored and forget all about them when she saw Archer standing on bottom of stairs, his eyes obviously angry and...hurt. That surprised her.
"What did you do?" she blurted out and look accusingly at the people who owns the land they stand on.
"Ms. Hart, I don't want you getting involve in a place where you shouldn't so you better get out of here" Mr. Frost said coldly, the look he was giving her send chills down her spine. She was scared as shit but she took one glance and Archer who narrowed his eyes on the man as he stormed toward her and know that there wasn't really anything they can do for some reason. Ellie may never have the courage to stand up for herself but don't like it when people threaten her friends or someone she lo-, she mentally shook her head before she said the big L word again, care for.
Besides, she finds her strength in Archer and she knows that he'll support her anyhow. It may not be the best way to find her courage but at least it's a start.
"I understand what you mean, Mr. Frost. I know it's not my business but I think that it's downright rude to threaten people in their own homes"
Archer stood quietly and protectively in front of Ellie.
Mr. Frost shrugged dismissively.
Ellie grabbed Archer's hands to assure him that she can take it as he starts to stiffen and stops him from doing something crazy, she steps beside him. Begging him with her eyes to let her talk because she knew if Archer did handle the situation, it will involve violence in the process of protecting her as he wasn't known to be the most 'patient' guy around.
