Juniper sat at the Super Computer in the Man Cave one day, her feet kicked up on the desk. She was reading one of her books, enjoying the rare bit of peace and quiet. The boys gathered at the table, putting different items in a box such as a pocket knife, a succulent, bag of noodles, and others. The idea of what they were doing was sweet. Making boxes for The Swellview Home for Runaway Teens. But the boys clearly didn't know that place got closed recently. And Juniper tried telling them but they didn't listen. So she just stayed at the Super Computer, enjoying her book.
"Hey, guys." Charlotte greeted, gaining Juniper's attention when the girl walked in.
"'Sup." She replied, smiling back at her before returning to her book as the others greeted her.
"Wait, I thought you were having dinner with your parents tonight." Henry said in confusion.
"I did. I just came back because I forgot my sweater." Charlotte confessed, making Juniper realize the sweater on the back of the chair she sat on was Charlotte's. She sat up straighter, picking it off the chair and handing it to her with a smile. Charlotte smiles back at her and glances over at the others with confusion when they continued putting things into the box. "Uh, hey, what are you guys doing?"
"Ah, we're putting together care packages." Ray admitted.
"Mhm." Henry agrees. "And then we're gonna send them to the Swellview Home for Runaway Teens. Protractor." Henry tossed in the item, followed by Ray putting in Moth Balls.
"Woah, woah, hold up." Charlotte stops them. "The Swellview Home for Runaway Teens shut down. It closed."
The group shares a look of disbelief. "Wha-Well what happened to all the runaway teens?" Ray stammered.
Charlotte shrugs. "They ran away."
They all dramatically complain about wasting their time over this. Ray then glares over at Juniper. "Don't tell me you knew about this and decided to say nothing."
Juniper didn't even flinch. "Nope." She waved a dismissive hand, not looking up from her book.
"Nope what?" Ray demanded.
"Nope I'm not dealing with your nonsense. I did tell you, you didn't listen." Juniper explained in annoyance.
Jasper looks confused. "Wait...When did you tell us?"
Juniper turns a page, continuing to read her book. "About ten minutes ago. Right after the noodles went in and before the moth balls."
Ray narrows his eyes. "You could've said it louder."
Juniper's voice was steady and unimpressed as she continues. "You could've listened harder."
Ray grumbles and slumps back, crossing his arms. Juniper rolls her eyes and continues reading her book. Henry snickers at the back and forth, getting up to head over to kiss the top of her head. "Sorry, Junebug."
