Chapter 37-Games

Ciana-

"Guys wait up!" Sonia yells laughing as we all run down the street of the amusement park. She's holding three massive teddy bears that are just about the same size as her. We had tried to tell her that she should wait to play all of the carnival games until we were about to leave but she didn't listen.

I take pity on her, slowing down and grabbing the light purple one out of her hands. She sighs in relief, "Thanks Cia". I just smile trailing behind the rest of our's and Cassio's friends. "It's so nice to see you again Cia We missed you!"

"Aww I missed you guys too. It's too bad that I had to come here".

Sonja looks toward me with empathy, "you needed a get away. We get it, and plus it must be wonderful to be able to be with your extended family".

 I smile, "yes, they are all so wonderful and welcoming. I'm happy I got to see them again after so many years".

She smiles yet it doesn't reach her full face, I can see she's debating asking me something. I sigh knowing this was going to come sooner or later, "you can ask".

She looks toward me guilty, "I don't want to intrude or make you uncomfortable".

"You won't Sonia, you're my first friend and I know everyone's been thinking it".

She paused, "why were you in the U.S? You couldn't have been with your family cause they all live here, so why?"

I debate telling her the whole truth or not, but I truly am a horrible liar, "do you know who my family is or what we are?"

She finches but nods, "I'm not really part of that world but I know that your family rules Italy. I first heard about it as a rumor many years ago, but there's two main facts and truths to disprove it. Anyone who doesn't believe it is foolish".

"My family has a lot of enemies. One of them wanted to start trouble with my family. They thought it would be a brilliant idea to kidnap the youngest child of the Dons family, me. Somehow, I ended up in The United States under the care of who I then thought were my parents, though they didn't really treat me like a daughter".

"Oh Cia I'm so sorry," Sonia says, picking up on my hidden revelation.

 "I was there for 10 years," I say continuing, "thank god I made it back to my true family".

 "I...," she starts, "how long have you been back?"

"Just under four months now".

"Oh god so you just got back. And then with all of the recent stuff going on..." she drifts off, "you really haven't had an easy life, have you?"

I just smile at her, "well, let's just hope it goes up from here". She nods solemnly.

I let out a laugh as Soren shrieks from beside me, though something in me is a little scared. Somehow we ended up getting stuck on the top of a ride...upside down. It's been two minutes and blood is rushing to my head. Soren, who is terrified of being upside down, is beside himself, though I can't help but find it a little funny. The screams he lets out are terribly girly, and he's gripping his shoulder restraint so hard his hands are white. "It's okay Soren, we are fine," I say placatingly, trying to calm him down. Nat makes a sarcastic comment from her side of Soren. She's surprisingly calm during all of this, well I shouldn't be surprised, she's pretty badass.

"Sorry about that everyone," the rollercoaster attendant voice comes over an intercom, "the ride will commence momentarily".

I look towards him, my loose hair falling towards the ground. "See, everything will be fin.." my voice quickly turns into screams as the ride finally continues, flipping and turning.
