Chapter 3 – Things That Matter
I was back at the headquarters of the Novemque Sentis as I opened a void and went through it. After I came out of the void immediately I made it in my room. It was still the same, a plain grey bedroom with only one bed by the diamond shaped window. The picture frame with the cracked glass still stood on the small table beside my bed. We had lost the battle against them thus we have also failed to procure the girl, my former best friend.
It was a good chance that all of them now were thinking about why I did those actions to them. Betrayal will be the one thing that they will reach a consensus at. Another probably is distrust but that just pushed to the edge now. I tried to stop caring, I really did and at that period in time I succeeded. Now that they know about who I really am, there was only one thing that had mattered to me now and that is the master’s goals.
A knock came from the door of my room as I stood up and immediately got near my door. It was none other than the second in command of the Novemque Sentis that had been in front of me as I opened my door.
“Lord Verrath wishes to see you Fraus.” Ketzerei had said as I heard his hoarse voice ring through my ears and to be honest it was very irritating for me to hear him. “I bet he’s not going to be pleased about the failure you had caused him.” He then said with a sinister look on his face.
“Shut up.” I said to him coldly as I walked by him. Ketzerei was always trying to pull my nerves, but too bad for him I’m just too mature to listen to any of his rants. All I tell myself when he’s around is that he is just an outrageous ass-kisser to the master.
I opened a void in front of me and immediately went through it and what I saw on the other side was a familiar sight. Traveling in voids of nothingness really made things efficient for me as I had reached the area where Lord Verrath resided.
“You’re late.” I heard him say as he still had the hood on as it covered his face. “As usual.” He added.
“I’m sorry my lord.” I replied to him as I dropped down on one knee and knelt before the leader of the Novemque Sentis. “I know you must have heard of our failure to procure your other half, but I have an explanation to back it up Lord Verrath.” I continued as I felt a cold wind blow in the air.

General POV
Verrath continued to stare at the voids as he saw each part of the world in conflict while Fraus was still on one knee as she paid her deep respects to their leader. She knew that she had failed the leader of the Sentis in a very huge way and the platinum-blonde haired girl knew what was at stake whenever failures happen.
“No need to explain.” Verrath said in a very calm voice as he still looked at the voids in front of him and this indeed had brought surprise to Fraus as she still knelt down. “Rise.” He added.
Fraus stood up from her kneeling position as she now postured herself in a very organized and calm manner.
“But I failed you my lord…” she then said as a response.
“No, it was to be expected that you three would fail. Fraus you have more power here and you’re second only to me in the Sentis, but in that particular situation the odds were just really stacked against your favor. Besides, there are still plenty of opportunities to get the girl.” Verrath assured her as he now faced her.
“Lord Verrath…thank you.” Fraus said as she breathed a sigh of relief afterwards.
“Now I have a new task for you.” The leader of the Sentis said to her and the aura of Verrath seemed to change from a static presence to a more fluctuated presence.
