Chapter 22 – The Ten no Aki Moka no Taito

It was very early in the day as Lucian and I watched the master and his pupil juke it out in front of us. Seiryu was attacking his master as he let out a series of slashes but all of these attacks were parried by his master Aizen with ease.

I then saw Seiryu now moving backwards to avoid his master’s attacks, but it seems that he’s not really doing good because Aizen was always a few steps ahead of him. Sometimes I really do worry about him because he might be overworking himself.

“You worry too much Miss Yue.” I heard Lucian say to me as I fixed my eyes at the master and his pupil doing their warm up fight.

“Well even though it’s a warm up it seems like those two are intent on killing each other.” I retorted back at him.

“My father used to train me the same way.” Lucian replied to him. Figures that he’s not worried about Seiryu. He probably believes in his strength.

“Has he talked to you recently?” the calm student suddenly asked me out of nowhere.

“Well he did greet me a good morning earlier, but that was it. He seems to be awkward with me for some reason.” I then said to him. He probably didn’t expect me to be quick with my confession of my feelings for him, but he did kiss me so that has to mean something right?

“He’s just adjusting. You know that Seiryu’s not the type who really shows his emotions.” Lucian replied to me.

“Not when we were alone that night. He almost broke down for some reason.” I thought as I now returned to look at the two people sparring in front of me.

“It’s only a warm up now dumbass and you’re already tired?! I didn’t teach you to be a weakling like this!” Aizen shouted out loud as I saw him drink from his flask.

Seiryu was still regaining his composure as I looked at him. He always gave it his all in everything he does and sometimes yes it’s a good thing but at most of the time he doesn’t see that he has friends that he could count on.

“I’ll protect you whenever you’re in a rut.” I heard his voice echo in my mind.

“Is it because your lady friend is here huh?! You having butterflies in your stomach all of a sudden?!” I heard Aizen shout as I felt my face heat up just a little bit and I could’ve sworn that I heard Lucian laugh a little.

“Shut up.” I heard Seiryu say as I saw him charge up his darkness energy.

“Now that’s more like it!” Aizen said as I saw them both do a battojutsu sword draw stance.

“Same techniques huh?” Lucian said as he looked closer.

“Like master like student.” I said out loud to him.

Then in a blink of an eye, the two people fighting in front of us suddenly disappeared from my sight but I felt their energy draw closer to each other. They both reappeared as the clash between them was about to happen.

“Kokuryuge Senko!” I heard his master Aizen say.

“Mikadzukoge Senko!” Seiryu replied in return as their weapons began to clash.

The clash between them lasted for quite some time until I saw one of them got out of balance. Seiryu then was sent reeling back by the attack that his master executed as he tried to support himself with his katana to stay up on his feet. Aizen on the other hand just stood calmly in front of his apprentice.

“Warm up’s done.” Aizen said as I saw him move to the huge boulder and sit down. He took out his flask again and began to drink from it. Does this guy ever stop drinking. “Now it’s time to brief you with the final attack.” I heard him say afterwards.
