Chapter 15 – Far-off Memories

“Seiryu!” I heard a voice say. I’ve had enough of these voices already, but I couldn’t really move now could I?

I felt like I was gone; removed from the world. I couldn’t move my body but my consciousness remained as if I was watching television. Static then began to approach my hearing senses as all became white and light had surrounded me.

Flashback

“Class I’d like to introduce a new student to all of you. He came from the southern region of the continent from the small town of Glendail.” The professor said as he introduced a long haired teen in front of the class. He had a bandage on one of his cheek and his hair was long and brown. He wore the school uniform of the battle academy but he didn’t seem to be psyched about it.

“Tell us your name.” The professor said to the boy.

“Seiryu Noelle.” He said coldly and the look on his eyes wasn’t so welcoming either.

“Now class let’s give him a proper welcome and greet him.” The professor said to the class once more.

The students greeted him but one of the students which was a male attempted to throw a paper ball at the long haired student but to their surprise he had caught it and dropped it to the side. It was Hugo who attempted to throw it under the consent of the blue haired female student.

“Ooooohhhh” the class then said in unison.

“Don’t mess with me.” Seiryu said as he looked at Hugo square in the face and he turned his face to the azure haired girl that sat on the far left end of the classroom.

End of Flashback

First day of classes huh? Now why would that memory pop up just like that? I didn’t really know that I was that cold and cunning when I first entered Treyah. Why are all of these memories showing to me now? Fate sure picks a time when I am bodily unable to move huh?

I hear the static again as everything begins to turn white once again and I can’t help but feel that this would be another flashback.

Flashback

It was raining that afternoon as the skies were dark. Rainfall dropped onto the fields outside of the academy as two fighters stood beneath it. Each of them willing to fight to the death just to prove to each other that one was stronger than the other.

“Raaaaahhhh!” Zaix shouted outloud as he readied his gauntlets and began to attack and swing at Seiryu with all his might.

The latter on the other hand kept calm and evaded all the attacks swiftly and when Zaix left an opening he used it as he executed a side slash that sent Zaix reeling back. He now pursued him with a series of dashing strikes that backed up the gauntlet artist more as the latter began to defend the attacks of Seiryu with a sense of urgency.

It wasn’t long after that the two fighters had reached a stalemate and they stopped attacking each other and instead just stared each other down.

“You’re pretty good for a first year.” Zaix said as he clutched on the wound on his torso.

“Likewise.” Seiryu replied coldly as he held on his katana tightly.
