Went to psych ward, but I'm writing again now :o
Louis is half asleep, cuddled up close to Harry, a pacifier bopping in his mouth and blankets around him, when he hears commotion from outside the bus. Harry hears it too and hopes that they aren't too drunk or loud; he really just wants a slow night with the boy.
"Daddy, 'm sleepy," Louis says, alerting the man that he is gonna fall asleep. And while he is very, very comfortable right here right now, he would much rather lie down in one of the bunk beds with the man. Where no one can disturb them. He can already feel the high energy the group outside has, and he is not feeling it. It simply is too much for him.
"Wanna go to bunks, baby?" Harry says, gathering the blanket that is encasing the boy. Louis nods and sucks harder on his pacifier- it is just so soothing.
He wishes he could lie with his daddy every single day, all day. This is one of the safest places he could be, right in his daddy's arms. His strong arms.
While his body is aching and telling him signals he can't fully comprehend in this headspace, he doesn't feel bad. He just knows something is up, not at all ready to say it to his daddy, in case he will be put down out of his safe arms.
"Paci!" Louis whines when he drops it after a big yawn escapes his mouth. He is oh so tired, and it makes it seem horrible; he lost his safety! What is going to calm him down now? He can already feel the tears running down his little cheeks, and Harry is quick to grab the pacifier and wipe the boy's tears that escape his eyes. He never wants to see his little boy sad. And while he knows that the boy is exhausted and it is making him more whiny and touchy, he can't be mad at his baby for simply having feelings.
After a bit of struggle, Harry gets Louis laid down comfortably on his chest, his strong arms around the boy. They both lay there, content, ready to call it a night. But then Louis' body gives a signal again, his tummy starts cramping. He just cannot understand what it means. It feels odd. He hasn't felt like this in a while. It makes him elect a small whine, where Harry rubs a soothing arm up the boy's back. Scratching his head a bit.
"Daddy, tummy ouch!" He hasn't felt this feeling before, or at least can't connect it to something from his big headspace.
"What is it, baby? Which way does it hurt?" Harry hopes the boy isn't getting sick. He didn't eat a whole lot, which was normal, but maybe in his small headspace, he can't fully understand what that means. He hopes it's just some hunger pains and not something special.
"Dunno. Jus' ouch!" the boy says, lying more on his side so the man can rub some gentle hands on the boy's tummy. Hoping it could help a little bit.
Not too long after Harry notices that the boy is sweating, even though he doesn't seem to be feeling warm, more the opposite. And it clicks. Louis is having withdrawals. He hasn't had alcohol in some time, and it is coming back to hit him. Harry knew that how often he was drinking was going to hurt in the long run, and he could not see it. Louis is in pain because he hasn't had alcohol. It shows just how much of a problem it was that he could not go a few days without alcohol.
"Baby, I know what can help. Can you let me come up?" Harry says he can give him a few painkillers and some of his sleep medication to help. If he can get the boy to swallow the pills, he doesn't have liquid medicine. He should have probably warned Louis that he needed to swallow a pill, but it will be fine. He hopes.
Louis moves to the side and clutches the blanket a bit tighter as Harry gets out of the bunk, ready to find some medicine and a cup.
Maybe he could get the boy to take the medicine more easily if he had some juice with it. So he gathers some painkillers and his sleep medication. Louis hasn't needed to use the sleep medicine in a while because he has been under the influence, easily falling asleep when he's high or drunk out of his mind.
