"Look Lou, your waffle is all done!" Harry exclaims when the air fryer beeps, while Louis is sitting quietly sucking on his pacifier.
It makes Louis smile so wide he drops the pacifier, and Harry makes a note to wash it before giving it back to Louis.
"Yay! Waffies!" Louis almost screams, very excited for his little snack. He feels like he hasn't eaten in like years, which is probably exaggerating, but he is just so hungry! Doesn't help that he barely eats normally, his stomach is empty half of the time.
Harry smiles and tries not to scold him over being loud, he isn't normally that loud, he guesses it must be because he is regressed, and does not have full control over his voice.
He hopes it is a sign that Louis is opening up more and being more free, he seems so free and relaxed in this state. Not a single worry is shown on his face. It is calming for Harry to watch him be so carefree, especially when he gets so excited over a simple thing as waffles.
Harry can't help but smile as he carries a paper plate with the waffle on it over to Louis, he just loves how sincere the happiness, that's radiating from the boy, is.
"See here, be careful baby, they might be a little warm," He instructs, not wanting Louis to get a burnt tongue like he has before.
He helps Louis sit up more right so he won't accidentally choke, and gives him the plate, hopefully he won't drop them.
"Mmmm, Yummy!" The little boy says, with a mouthful of waffle, a not-so-pretty sight, but Harry still adores him. Harry thinks that when this whole being a caregiver started, it opened up a whole new world for Harry, it opened a new way to see Louis, to see him be more himself, and for Harry to have a bigger role in his life. Which has made this longing that Harry had, feel much more intense, now that he actually has Louis. He is a part of his life, a really big part now, and he hopes this keeps going so well. He loves seeing Louis be calm, it makes him calm. He can try so hard to meditate and relax, but nothing compares to cuddling with Louis.
It all happened so fast though, Harry isn't sure if that's a good thing or not. He can feel that Louis is also very close to him, but he is worried that maybe he is closer than Louis is. He wonders if Louis is having the same thoughts, or if he is oblivious to the way Harry feels, not that he loves him romantically. But this overwhelming feeling that he needs to take care of Louis, is making him love him. In a sense.
He's always had it like that, that he wanted to protect Louis for everything he could. But he was never able to in the same way as now, now it is actually his responsibility to make sure he is feeling okay. And that makes him feel complete.
"Can I has water pease?" Louis mumbles, Harry not even noticing he finished his waffle, he wasn't sure how long he was caught in his thoughts.
"Of course, hun, let me grab a cup for you," Harry says, rubbing the little boy's leg. He is still only in Harry's pull-over and a nappy. The blanket is now bundled around his side and not covering him at all, guess he may have gotten too warm.
It's slightly warm in the bus, but nothing compared to how it is outside, in Harry's eyes it's worse than a sauna. He hates feeling the sun on his skin, he wants to be able to cover up and wear jumpers and hide away in the shadows.
Louis on the other hand, loves the sun, he loves sunbathing and being outside, he loves the fresh air and warmth.
He is also a person who is cold almost all the time, no matter how warm it is, he can't seem to get warm enough. So he still bundles up in hoodies when he can.
Harry gets up and grabs a plastic cup, just in case he thinks. He doesn't want Louis to accidentally break one of the many mugs they have.
They all collectively started buying funny mugs they could find when out exploring, so they have a copious amount of all kinds of mugs, even some that he doesn't even think can be used for tea or coffee.
