8 / Just one day

Kim Namjoon

I arrived almost twenty minutes earlier just to be safe that I won't miss her. The bench where we met before was empty so I sat down and waited, time has never passed by slower. I almost went crazy as the clock finally turned on six. It was six but she wasn't there. I decided to wait, maybe she just missed the train. Then I noticed someone approaching me. When the person got closer I could see that it was her, so I got up to greet her. She looked out of breath, maybe she was in a rush to get here?

We looked at each others outfits and both of us started to smile a little, she was wearing converse again and I wore black again. Did she do that on purpose? Anyway, it made me smile. After we said our hello's I took out the sketch book.

"Thank you for keeping it safe for me," she said.

She was reaching out for it and when I handed it to her our hands touched and we looked at each other for a short moment.

"Uh... no problem, I guess?" I didn't know what to say and after giving it back we didn't know what to do so we just sat down on the bench and started talking.

"What brought you here anyway?" She asked me and looked at me with a smile.

"I was just walking around and then I happend to hear you listening to Danger. I thought you would regonize me only by my voice but you didn't."

"I just knew that one song back then, I wasn't an army you know." We both started laughing and kept talking for a really long time. At one point we got up to walk around a little bit.

"Are you cold?" I asked her because I saw that she was rubbing her arms.

"Just a little."

I took off my jacket and placed it over her shoulders. She didn't want me to do it at first but I guess she gave in because she was really cold.

"Thank you...that's much better."

"What was it that brought you here that day?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Hangang is my secret hangout." She giggled and then continued, "I often come here because my parents own a restaurant which is close by and as you could see, I'm drawing a lot and that's the perfect place to do so."

I just nodded and didn't know what to say to her. I really wanted to talk to her more but what can I ask her? I still don't even know her name but it's awkward if I ask for it. We're not even friends. We were kind of nothing. We kept on walking and then I heard a noise coming from her direction. I think that was her stomach. 

"Are you hungry? We could grab something." I said.

"Yes I am, but where?"

"Anywhere, really. What do you want to eat, it's my treat for keeping your book for so long."

"How about knife noodles, they're my favorite." She suggested with a bright smile.

"Really? They're my favorite too!"

So we made our way to a little restaurant I knew along the way, they had the best knife noodles in town. Surprisingly she knew that restaurant as well. We already had something in common.
We arrived at the restaurant and while we waited for our food she told me a bit about herself.

"So how do you know us then, I mean bts?"

"My best friend showed me the Danger music video and I was so impressed by it. I didn't  like kpop at all but after that I got into it. But I just listen to you guys."

"So who do you like the most..?"

She blushed and looked away but then she looked at me again, her cheeks were really red.

"Well...it's you actually. I tried to stay cool you know, but now you asked that question and I'm trapped. "

"You aren't saying that because I'm the one who sits here with you?" I chuckled.

"No I'm really not! After seeing the video I looked up some information about you but it's not like I'm a crazy fangirl. And when we first met I didn't regonize you because I wasn't that deep into it."

"So you were interested in me?" I smirked at her to tease her a bit more and in no time her cheeks got red again.

"Ya, don't think I like you or something." She said and laughed. 

Our food was ready and we started to eat. We looked at each other often and had to smile a lot, but she always looked away right after that. I think it was really cute so I kept teasing her whenever I could. After we finished I wanted to ask for her name but that didn't work out.

"So what's your name?"

Her phone started ringing and she answered her it right away. She got up and walked away to talk. After she finished the call she looked kinda sad.

"I have to go Namjoon, my mom called me. Maybe we'll see each other again, it was really nice to meet you and thank you for eating with me."

She waved her hand and showed me a peace sign along with her cute smile. I did the same and we laughed again. After that she turned around and left, without telling me her name. I hope she was right. I hoped we meet again.
