Chapter Three: Good Luck
**Zyla's POV**
Mum was leaving today. We were on our way to One Direction's flat now. I could feel my heart beating in my chest. I didn't want to do this. Especially since I didn't know how long Mum was going to be gone. Especially since I was being forced to stay with my father (who I've never met let me say again) qand four other guys that are part of a band I cannot stand. it's not that I was worried about meeting him and everything . . . who are we kiddin? I admit it I'm worried. But not because I'm afraid he won't like me, I could care less about that. I'm worried about his personality.
"I'll call you every night I promise," Mum said as the car stopped. My head jerked up.
Oh gods.
**Liam's POV**
I rubbed my hands together nervously. Oh god. My mind flashed back to the conversation me and Anne had had the other day.
"We need to talk," she said.
"About?" I asked.
"Your daughter."
Silence. I didn't know what to say. "What do you mean?"
Anne sighed, "Liam I have lung cancer." My mouth dropped slightly. "Anne . . . I'm so sorry."
"It's fine but . . . the doctors don't think I'm going to make it." I said nothing, my eyes wide. "What does this have to do with me?"
"Liam your daughter is almost fifteen years old! She can't and won't go her whole life with out meeting you!"
"Anne she probably hates me!" I argued. "Yes she does but you need to do something about that. And you're going to. I'm not the only parent here no matter how immature you are!" I didn't respond. "Please Liam," her voice was quieter, "I'm leaving for America . . . for special treatment, and I need her to stay with someone."
"Then why not a friend?" I said even quieter knowing I wasn't going to win. "Because." was all she said. "Because of my will." I closed my eyes understanding what she meant. She really did think she was going to die. "Alright," I answered. "Really?" said Anne in almost a relieved tone. "Yes," I answered. "Thank you Liam," she said her tone still soft. "Is there anything I need to know?" I asked. "Yes. But I'll put it all in the letter." Just then a door slammed and a girl's voice called out, "Mum!"
"In the kitchen Zyla!" Anne answered. "Look I need to go. The flight leaves tomorrow . . . " I nodded then said, "Ok."
"Bye."
Then we hung up me still in disbelief over what had just happened.
"Liam?" I snapped back to reality and looked up. Anne was standing there, a girl next to her. "Anne," I said. She smiled slightly and said, "This is Zyla." I looked at the girl standing beside Anne. She was a bit taller than Anne and thin. She looked exactly like Anne except with my hair color.
I stared for a second then said, "Hi Zyla." She said nothing and threw me a dirty look. Anne walked towards me and pressed a letter into my hands. "Good luck," she whispered.
"My flight leaves in an hour," said Anne stepping back, "so I need to head out but Zyla-a word?"
I watched as Anne and Zyla walked off toward the car. I exhaled still worried.
**Zyla's POV**
"Yeah?" I asked as we stopped by the car. "Zyla promise me you'll stay out of trouble." I stared. "Ok."
