INT. TEA HOUSE

- PRIVATE ROOM -

NIGHT

The reform group is still deep in discussion when a MESSENGER arrives at the door. He hands a sealed letter to Official Jin, who quickly breaks the seal and reads the contents. His eyes widen as he scans the document.

OFFICIAL JIN

(Excitedly) "This is from Aiyue. She has confirmed that the northern supply lines are vulnerable and that key officials are privately criticizing the emperor's refusal to act."

The room erupts into a flurry of conversation as the group discusses how best to use this new information.

SCHOLAR FAN

(Determined) "Then we have an opening. We need to use this information to pressure the military leaders—show them that the emperor's inaction is a threat to their own power and the safety of the empire."

SHIXIANG

(Firmly) "If we can present this to the right people, those who are already dissatisfied with the court's incompetence, we might have enough support to take decisive action."

The group nods in agreement, their energy renewed by the hope that Aiyue's intelligence brings. They begin to lay out a plan, identifying key military leaders and officials who could be potential allies.

SCHOLAR LI

(Pointing to names on a list) "General Wang has been vocal about his frustrations with the lack of resources. He commands a significant portion of the northern forces. If we can convince him, others might follow."

OFFICIAL JIN

(Adding) "And Commander Han has long been a critic of the emperor's focus on palace building over military readiness. He could be a strong ally if we handle it carefully."

Shixiang leans forward, his eyes scanning the names. He knows the gravity of the task ahead but feels a surge of determination.

SHIXIANG

(Decisively) "We must approach them discreetly, with the right mix of pressure and persuasion. We cannot afford any missteps."

OFFICIAL JIN

"Agreed. We'll draft messages tonight and begin reaching out in the morning. Liao and Xixia won't wait, and neither can we."

SCHOLAR FAN

"And Shixiang, continue your efforts with the scholars. We need their voices to bolster our legitimacy. The more we can position ourselves as a true reform movement, the better our chances."

SHIXIANG

"I will. There are still those who believe in the principles that guide us. We just have to find them."
