INT. IMPERIAL ACADEMY HALL - NOON

CLOSE-UP: A SCHOLAR'S HANDS

The scholar's hands rest on a scroll, fingers twitching as he considers SHIXIANG's words. There is a tension in the air, the weight of tradition pressing against the need for progress.

CROWN PRINCE HUAN

(Thoughtful) "Shixiang has a point. The world is indeed changing. We have heard reports of new technologies, new ways of thinking from rumors inside the imperial palace. Perhaps... it is time we consider how we might incorporate these into our own practices."

SENIOR SCHOLAR CHANG

(Sternly) "With all due respect, Your Highness. New technologies? What good are they if they erode the moral fabric of our society? We must tread carefully, lest we invite disaster."

HEAD SCHOLAR

(Deliberate) "Shixiang, what you propose is not without merit, but it is fraught with danger. The reform you speak of would challenge not just the bureaucracy, but the very essence of what it means to be a scholar in this empire. Have you considered the consequences of such reform?"

SHIXIANG

(Respectful, Composed) "I understand, Master. I have taken in consideration of its repercussions. I know it will not be easy, and I do not expect immediate results. But if we do nothing, the consequences will be far worse."
