Aiyue sits by her window, She hears a soft rustling outside her door and quickly moves to hide her documents. A quiet knock follows, and she opens the door cautiously, relieved to see
ONE OF THE BROTHEL'S ATTENDANTS. BROTHEL ATTENDANT
(In a whisper) "Madam Lin asked me to remind you to be careful. There are new guests coming tomorrow, officials with close ties to the emperor. They've been asking questions."
Aiyue nods, her expression serious.
AIYUE
"Thank you. I'll be careful. Tell Madam Lin I understand the risks."
The attendant nods and slips away, leaving Aiyue to close the door quietly. She leans against it, taking a moment to collect her thoughts. The warnings are becoming more frequent, and the sense of impending danger looms larger each day.
