INT. SHIXIANG'S RESIDENCE - AFTERNOON
There's a knock at the door. Shixiang tenses, his hand instinctively reaching for the small dagger he keeps by his side. He moves cautiously to the door, peeking through the crack. It's OFFICIAL JIN, one of the key figures in the reform group. Shixiang opens the door quickly, letting him inside.
OFFICIAL JIN
(Urgently) "Shixiang, we've received your message. The Chancellor's investigations are intensifying. We need to act now if we are to maintain our momentum."
Shixiang nods, leading Jin to the table where he unrolls the latest scroll he's been working on.
SHIXIANG
"We need to secure the loyalty of the military commanders closest to the emperor. If we can demonstrate that our reforms would strengthen the empire's defenses, we might sway them before my father does."
Official Jin examines the scroll, nodding in agreement.
OFFICIAL JIN
"And Aiyue? How is her intelligence gathering going? The information she's provided has been invaluable, but it's also placing her in greater danger with each passing day."
SHIXIANG
"She's aware of the risks, but she's committed. She's already uncovered new details about the officials visiting the brothel. We need to keep her work protected at all costs."
Jin's expression darkens, understanding the peril they all face.
OFFICIAL JIN
"We must also consider contingencies. If the Chancellor's net closes around you, we'll need a plan to get you and Aiyue to safety. Your father's reach is formidable, and he will not show mercy."
Shixiang nods, his jaw set with determination.
SHIXIANG
"We'll be ready. I'm not leaving this fight, Official Jin. Not while there's still a chance to change things."
