Aiyue sits at her desk, her mind racing with the events of the night. She carefully reviews her notes, making sure everything is in order. She knows that every detail she collects brings the reform movement closer to their goal, but it also brings her closer to danger.
ANGLE ON: HIDDEN COMPARTMENT
She opens the hidden compartment in her desk, placing the latest document inside. As she closes it, there's a soft knock at her door. Her heart skips a beat, but she forces herself to remain calm.
AIYUE
(Calling out) "Who is it?"
A familiar BROTHEL ATTENDANT replies, her voice muffled through the door.
BROTHEL ATTENDANT
"Madam Lin just wanted to check on you. She said you've been busy tonight."
Aiyue lets out a quiet breath of relief.
AIYUE
"Tell Madam Lin I'm fine. I just needed some time to rest."
The attendant's footsteps fade away, and Aiyue sits back in her chair, her eyes closing for a brief moment of respite. She knows that every night is a gamble, but she's prepared to play the game as long as it takes.
