Chapter 6 – Lilia

It's funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back... Everything is different.

“Mom!” I screamed as I grabbed the cucumber sandwich and my lemonade. “I'm going to eat and read outside. Do not bother me!”

“Alright hon! Now shut up. I'm sleeping!” my mom yelled back.

I stiffed in a laugh as I walked out onto the back porch. I sat down and picked up my book ready to start reading. “Lilia?” I jump right out of my chair. I turn around and see Caleb slinking in from the bushes on the side of my house. WHAT THE FUCK? “Can I talk to you?” He asks me.

“No.”

“Lilia!”

I get up and walk right up to him, “I am so sorry! You've mistaken me for someone who gives a damn about you or your problems!”

His face twists in pain, “Lilia I want to get back together.”

Anger flares up inside of me. What is with this guy? Why is he sitting outside of my house and watching me? I look up at him, my eyes piercing him. If only eyes could kill. “Listen up. I am over you! It's surprising but true. So now you can turn around and get the extra small condom out of your car because your gunna need it over head. If your going to act like a fucking dick, you might as well look like one!”

Caleb grabs my wrist and holds onto it. Pain shoots up my wrists as he twists them, “I will not have you speaking to me that way. If I had wanted a bitch as a girlfriend I would have bought a dog. Now shut up.”

Fear started to pulse through me. I haven't ever seen him like this and I gotta tell you... It's scary as shit. My hands are becoming numb from the lack of blood because of his iron grip on my wrists. Every time I fidget, pain shoots up my arm and I gasp. I look right up at Caleb and all I see is anger. I start to get very cold and there is a flash of white in my vision. I turn my head too look at the forest only to see nothing.

Suddenly Caleb let go of my wrist. I look up at him to see his face totally white. His eyes are focused on in me and his mouth keeps opening and closing as if he wants to say something but he can't. I take this as my chance and push him away. I run inside my house forgetting my book and food outside. Now I kinda miss it as my stomach rumbles. I turn around and stare trough the glass doors as Caleb just walks away without trying to pound on my door.

I wait another twenty minutes to make sure he's gone and then slowly open my door. I run out to the table with my food and book. Again I sit down and flip to the page I didn't get to read. I try focusing on the book but fail. I utterly fail. My mind wanders over to the white thing that flashed in my eye sight. I slowly get up, put my book down and start heading for the forest.

The forest is calm. There is no breeze and the temperature is warm. It takes while to walk over to the woods while trying to be stealthy. No matter where you step you make a sound. I sort of crouch while walking making myself look like a ninja in the process. Personally I like pirates better but hey, I don't see a ship or an ocean anywhere near by. Especially in Colorado. Ninjas are like super creepers dressed in all black. Pirates have style with their swords and shit. Weapons are more fun than fists.

Finally I get over to the forest to find nothing. Just trees with a lot of leaves on them. I sit down in the shade and start pulling grass out of the ground. I hear rustling and I turn my head. There is another streak of white. I get up, tripping a little, and start running for the streak of white. I follow as it runs in and out of view. Tree roots trip me and branches scratch me. Nothing slows me down. Finally the view of the meadow is gone and I'm lost in the middle of the forest. In one direction the forest continues to span on for miles and miles. In another direction I’ll hit a lake. In another direction, I’ll reach the road leading to my house or my house. I shrug it off.

I turn around and run right into a thing. I'm not kidding. I don't know how to describe it. It looks like a beautiful woman but there is something otherworldly about her. I'll just call it a she. Her eyes are huge and surrounded by thick eye lashes. Her eyes portray calmness and serenity. She looks at me and then grabs for my arm. To my surprise I let her. My head is screaming for me to run the hell out of there but I can't really move my body.

“Your name is Lilia true?” she asks her. My ears scream to hear more of her voice which sounds like heaven. She turns away from me and starts walking, more like floating. I look past her face to see her blond hair spiraling down her back with various wild flowers here and there. She's just as small as me too which if find odd. “Come my dear Lilia. Come home.”

My ears soaked up her beautiful voice as we continued walking. Finally she let go of my wrist but hugged me instead. I breathed in her scent which is godly. I could stand there and smell her all day (weird I know). There is no exact scent except flowers. I hug her back and her warmth circles around me. I finally get the courage to say something, “Who are you?”

“My name is Willow. I'm a dryad,” she smiles. Her smile is warm and I want to bath in it. What the fuck is wrong with me?

I nod still confused. Willow smiles even brighter as she fixes my hair, “Don't worry. I'll keep you out of harms way. We will figure out what you are soon enough.”

Again I nod. Willow touches a finger to my forehead and my head starts feeling very lightheaded. I close my eyes and open them to darkness, I can't see anything. The dizzy, lightheaded feeling gives away to fatigue. Slowly my breathing slows and I fall asleep.

I woke up to the sound of crickets and yelling. I try to get up but find it's to hard and it makes me feel sick. The yelling sounds as if someone is trying to talk to me when I'm underwater. I shrug it off and let myself relax. I want to go to sleep again.

“I found her!” someone yells. My body gets shaken but I barley feel it. The shaking persists but I don't want to respond so I don't. “Shit.”

I feel like I'm floating. I try to open my eyes but they are to heavy so I just let them droop. Again my body was being shaken and let me tell ya. It's annoying. Why can't I just sleep in my bed peacefully? I'm tired and I don't need anyone hassling.

“Honey wake up! Honey wake up! LILIA!” my mother's voice broke through my haze.

It took me a while but I finally got my eyes open to see a very upset mother and a very concerned Keaton, “What are you doing out here?”

I look around to find that I am not in my bed but instead in a forest. I shake my head, “I dunno... Running?”

Keaton shakes his head and gives me an exasperated look, “You know... You remind me of a little bird that always needs to be saved.”

It's my turn to give him a weird look. I start to giggle lightly, “If I were a bird and able to fly, I'd fly right into a ceiling fan.”

Both my mother and Keaton start laughing at that.
