Albus slept soundly in the arms of Gellert. It was his first peaceful, uninterrupted, sound night ever since he was kidnapped by his ex-student.
Wild, thought Queenie as she turned off the last lights in the house.
Then, a thought suddenly appeared.
"Where are the children?" She spoke the question out loud.
Vinda heard the horror in her voice from across the room. Gellert did so as well.
Vinda did not bat an eye. She trusted her lord-- he was always considerate, careful, unless... She jumped from her chair. Unless something was wrong with Albus Dumbledore. Of course he would forget about the children!! His Albus was hurt-- he must have thrown the kids out of the window right there!
She frantically ran to the living room, where Gellert was already on his knees, full of fear and misery.
"Where...are the children?" He echoed.
"Oh goodness, you should know," Answered Queenie with a trembling voice.
So they set off to London once more, this time, without Albus.
--
The hospital was busy as always. St. Mungo's, filled with varying patients, from sick elves to possessed wizards. Gellert frantically searched for the Nursery unit, pushing poor patients on the way.
When they finally arrived, he yelled at every single possible nurse. "Where are my children?" The words echoed through the corridor. Queenie bit her lip in nervousness and embarrassment, while Vinda tried to soothe her lord.
To their surprise, however, the personnel were quite straightforward. They must have been so done with him before, thought Vinda. It was obvious from the looks they exchanged, the way they rolled their eyes-- that they all knew who this madman was. One of the nurses directed him to the first room of the unit, where he stated that his children were "safe and sound".
"THEY BETTER BE." Gellert answered ungratefully, rushing to break the door open. But as soon as he laid his eyes on his babies-- his small versions of Gellert and Albus-- his heart melted.
"Awwww. There they are." Said Vinda softly, echoing Gellert's thoughts.
Queenie was straight-out crying, her makeup ruined from the tears.
One of them was blonde. Bright, shining blonde, just like Gellert. His eyes were deep blue, just like Albus's. The nose, the bone structure, and the brows were very similar to Albus as well. He decided to therefore name him Albert. Albus, but also, Gellert.
"He better be noble and bright like his dads. Write it down-- his name is Albert." He commanded to one of the nurses at the register.
The other one was the exact copy of... Aberforth? Oh not that damn-- Gellert thought angrily. He refused to accept the fact that his daughter-- his only daughter-- was resembling his worse enemy since the beginning of time. Yet as he looked at her more, he realized that she was just like his Albus. Calm. Innocent. So he named her, Athena.
Albus, Athena, Albert...
And for the first time in a very, very long while, Gellert smiled. Not the smug, mocking, malicious, or sarcastic kind. It was wide, warm, and glowing.
"Oh the sun came out from the other side today. Gellert Grindelwald is actually smiling!" Exclaimed Vinda, half-joke, half-serious.
Queenie bursted into tears.
The nurse rolled her eyes, hoping for a quicker end for the visiting session.
--
On the other side of the country, Albus woke up from a feverish dream. He stood up, looking for water in the kitchen, when he realized that no one was home. He searched every room, knocked on every door, and it hit him that there was no sign of life other than the house-elves.
"Gellert, you did not..." he thought to himself angrily.
Then, another feeling emerged. Something very, very important was missing. Was it the keys? The wand? Gellert?
Oh no.
It was his children.
"Where are the children?" He asked, horrified, heart pounding hard in his chest. He started hyperventilating, eyes wide from fear. "Gellert... Gellert must know. Yes, that is why they are not home."
So he quickly exited the door, running to St. Mungos.
Yet he felt darkness around his vision. His head was dizzy, his eyes could not see, and his entire body felt numb.
Darkness echoed in the streets, as the owls screeched under the moon.

Married Grindeldore
Hayran KurguMarried grindeldore (grindelwald/dumbledore). Yes, it's canon. Albus is pregnant. Read at your discretion. Just some comfort to my heart because Rowling sealed her pen. 💔 Warning: Some (actually most) parts are cringey because I was 13 when I start...
