Andrea's P.o.v.
That night I wasted no time, after my encounter with Aphrodite I couldn't risk anything anymore. Justice was breathing once more and was slowly recovering, which meant I could leave with Newt without feeling remorse. Preparing myself physically was no challenge, but nothing could prepare me for all my guilty thoughts. The voices inside me head echoed gradually getting louder, louder, louder- bam! Hera. She was sadistic, cruel, and just plain nasty if I escapes with Newt no question she'd try to stop us, but she'd no doubt try to make me crawl back by using my friends against me. So I spent the few hours I had left planning how I could bust Newt out and convince him to come alongside me also, keeping in mind to bring the others.
Annabeth's P.o.v.
I had managed to escape for the second time and make it back to the dreaded maze. Percy was no help. I tried convincing him to come alongside me and help me stop the others from escaping; but he just turned away from me horrified and disgusted.
So, I lay here resting on the stony floor thinking ways to stop them. My mother, Athena, had warned me about their escape mere hours ago, but I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something off about her. The way she acted was almost robotic she was acting like some sort of machine. The words that came from her mouth weren't her own, but that of someone else's. I knew I shouldn't listen, especially if I had no idea who these commands were from, but I knew better than to disobey any orders from the gods or goddesses.
I had gone days without any sort of slumber so it wasn't really a surprise when I felt my eyes droop and slightly close until they closed completely.
Dream
"Annabeth." My mother's sweet authoritative voice rang in my ears. "You must understand that these commands given to you aren't from me, but from Hera." I search the darkness trying to catch a glimpse at my mother. "Hera seeks revenge on Zeus for his un-loyalties, but that's not all she's also seeking revenge on the rest of us gods for not helping her." I open my mouth to speak but my mouth fails me. "She has us locked away the only one who was prosperous to escape was Aphrodite." I let out a scoff. "Now, honey don't doubt her she's been secretly helping one of your acquaintances." My mind races trying to figure out who this person could be. "Andrea. Andrea is the only one who remembered, Hera's trick to wipe her memory failed. Andrea has powers truly stronger than any other mortal. For one who could withstand the power of a god is truly more than just human." From that moment I knew what my mom was implying Andrea was the key. Andrea was the key to defeat Hera and help everyone escape. "You must aid her in her quest to escape." I reached out into the darkness my hand barely visible as I started to wake up. "Don't fail me." Was the last thing I heard before my eyes snapped open.
After Dream
I woke up in a cold sweat I knew what my mission was from this point on. I needed to aid Andrea safely through the Maze. Collecting myself from off the ground I sprinted back to the Maze Wall to see that they were closing. Gathering speed I managed to make it through mere seconds before it closed. Looking over my shoulders and in front of me I watched as a couple Gladers were making their way to dinner. Slightly jogging I ran to the infirmary where Andrea lay in her bunk unguarded and too her right lay Justice fast asleep. Guilt built up in my chest as I examined her thigh a little closer seeing that she might develop a limp from where my knife was buried deep inside her flesh.
Clearing my mind I slightly shook Andrea only to realize she awake. Faster than anything I've ever experienced before I'm up against the wall Andrea's hands at my throat. Gripping and clawing at her wrists I try to remove her hands. Finally, I revert to the only choice I have and kick her straight in the gut. Both of us coughing we stare at each other menacingly, but then my mission is clouding my thoughts and my mom's final words.
"Don't attack." I put my hands up. "I'm here to help."
"Why should I trust you?" She sneers.
"Because I know things you don't." Her glare diminishes slightly. "I know you're leaving tonight with Newt."
Her face softens just a little and her clenched fists slowly fall to her sides.
"How do you know?"
"My mother told me. She came to visit me in a dream."
"You too?"
I nodded.
"I've been serving an imposter this whole time. I was doing Hera's bidding thinking it was my mother's."
"Well it isn't too late to redeem yourself." She hesitated. "If you help me I'll convince my friends to trust you."
"Deal." I shook her hand.
Newt's P.o.v.
I waited for Thomas arrival and was surprised when he didn't show up. Instead I was greeted by Andrea's smiling face and our crowd of friends. In her left hand was a pair of jangling keys. Trembling she opened my cell door and immediately I jumped out tackling her to the floor. Happily I placed kisses all over face and finally her lips.
"I missed you." I puffed out.
She pecked my lips.
"I missed you too."
Andrea's P.o.v.
Finally picking ourselves up off the floor Newt and I, along with our friends, made our way to the massive wall guarding us from the griever infested Maze. Our flashlights shone against the wall as our shadows were painted across the vine infested wall. Slowly one by one we helped each Glader climb it using the vines. Now that everyone was through Newt and I clung to separate vines and started climbing eventually I passed him.
Then I was falling, falling, falling- until my body made contact with the hard floor. Hovering over me, eyes burning deep into mine, staring into my soul was Gally.
