Chapter 28

Recap: (Kian's Pov)

My legs become weak and I slow down a bit. I think I lost them. I steady my breathing and begin walking. Suddenly I'm tackled to the ground, and my face is shoved into the concrete. "Bring the car around." A man says, into what I'm assuming is a walkie-talkie. Soon I feel my eyes flutter shut, and police sirens fill my ears...

(Kian's Pov)

I feel a soft tingling on my right cheek and I open my eyes to see flickering light illuminating off the dark walls that surround me. "Babe, the movie's over, time to go..." I hear a sweet voice, in reaction making my head drift to my side. I let out a deep sigh of relief when my gaze is met with Melody's. Her face goes from a sweet inviting smile, to a look of concern within seconds. "Are you alright?" She asks, in a calming voice. "Y-yeah, just had some really vivid dreams that didn't make any sense." I force out a chuckle. She shakes her head slightly and plants a kiss on my cheek. I watch as she stands up from her seat and offers a hand to help me up. I comply and stand up beside her. As we walk out of the theater behind Jc and his date, Melody asks me a question that I hoped she wouldn't ask. "What was the dream about?"

I swallow hard and run my thumb over her knuckles. "Can I tell you later? It probably isn't the best thing to talk about in public." I chuckle nervously. She stays silent and I see her nod from my peripheral vision. "Lisa has work tomorrow, I'm gonna take her home.. Text me sometime?" Jc greets when we reach the car. Melody and I give nods of approval before climbing into the car. The drive home was silent. It wasn't comforting, it wasn't nurturing, if anything there was tension over anything else. We weren't tired, the music was quiet and I could tell Melody was uncomfortable. Just above the soft music, I can hear shallow uneasy breathing. At this moment I can't who it is... Is it me, and I'm not realizing it? Or is it Melody having a panic attack.... Oh my god!!! "Melody are you okay?" I ask in the calmest voice I can create at the moment. I make my voice soft so just in case she is panicking, it doesn't worsen by me having an alarming tone of voice.

I keep my eyes glued to the road, anxiously awaiting an answer. "No." She says quietly. I glance at her for a split second before returning to the road. "Wanna talk abou-" I'm cut of before I can even finish wording my sentence. "You're leaving me... aren't you?" She says blatantly and harsh. I furrow my eyebrows and glance at her. "Of course not!" I shout, stopping at the red light. The sun sets warmly in behind the mountains in front of us. "I-I can't..." She gasps from beside me. "Can't what?" I ask cautiously. "I can't lose you too." She whispers, just loud enough for me to hear. I take my right hand off the steering wheel and place it on her thigh. "You aren't going too... you know why?"

"Why?"

"Because I love you, always know that." I say, squeezing her leg a little and returning my hand to the wheel.

"I love you too." She says as we pull into the driveway. I am completely dreading what I'm gonna have to explain in about three minutes..

(Jc's Pov)

I look closely at Lisa's eyes as we stand on her front porch. "I love your eyes." I whisper, knowing she'll blush. She is adorable when she blushes. "I like yours too." She smiles. We stand there for a few seconds just gazing at each other. "Well uhm, I'm gonna go inside.." She trails, pointing at her door. I nod and scratch the back of my neck in embarrassment. "See ya." I say, turning on my heel, but I'm stopped as soon as I take a step. Without warning she leans up and presses her lips to my cheek. "Kay, bye!" She says and runs into her apartment. I chuckle to myself and make my way back to my car.

(Lisa's Pov)

I run into my apartment, closing my door quickly and sliding down the back of it. "Wow Lisa... smooth move." I mutter to myself, face palming.

(Melody's Pov)

I listen carefully as Kian explains his dream in detail. What he's said so far, makes tears swell in my eyes, like bug bites when you itch them. "Then everything went black and sirens filled my ears.." He finishes, looking up from his lap and into my eyes. Without skipping a beat, I wrap my arms around him and nuzzle my face in his shoulder. "I would never, ever do that to you, Kian." I mumble into his shirt. I give him a tight squeeze, then pull away. "I'm gonna go change.." I announce jumping off the kitchen counter and walking into the hallway. "Can I come watch?" Kian asks, making my eyes widen and an embarrassed smile stretch across my face. Thank god he can't see me, I probably look like a dog on crack or something... "Uhm no. Bye Felicia!" I yell with sass, bolting up the stairs and into my room. 'Awwww' I hear muffled from downstairs. I giggle to myself and pull on my shorts.
