You got up early, awoken by a loud obnoxious alarm. You slammed your fist down on the off button. "Wake up, kid! Breakfast is on the counter," your sister said as she leaned on your night stand. "Uuuuhhhhghh..." You groaned as you rolled off the bed and forced yourself to walk into the kitchen. You stood by the plate on the counter, supporting your weight on one leg as you ate, waking up a little bit more. Throwing on deodorant and brushing your hair and teeth, you finally got dressed in a casual outfit and told your sister you were leaving, not having to go to your interview until 9:00. You checked your watch. It was 8:00. You have an hour to find The Big Donut and explore Beach City.

It took at least 20 minutes to find the Big Donut. You were now walking along the water. You had an attachment to the beach, having loved the feel of the water surrounding you since you were little. You felt your foot step on something and almost immediately you tried not to put your weight on your feet and you stepped back. "I hope it wasn't a crab..." You said as you reached down to see what you stepped on. It was a pretty blue teardrop shaped gem. You carefully rotated the gem in your hand to make sure you didn't chip it or anything. It was very beautiful, but it was too big to fit on a necklace. You shrugged, guessing you'll just have to start a collection of pretty things you find on the beach. You put the gem in your pocket, then looked at your watch to check the time. 8:57. If you moved now you could make it to the Big Donut for the interview at around 9:03. You hoped it was alright if you were late by at least three minutes. Starting to jog in the direction of the donut shop, you were careful that the gem didn't fall out of your loose pocket.

A short and pudgy blonde greeted you at the counter. "You must be (Y/N), right? I'm Sadie. Please, seat yourself at one of the tables and Lars and I will start the interview," she said, her hand gesturing to the tables. You nodded and walked over to the nearest table and sat down. A boy with curly black-ish brown hair with a golden star on his pink shirt walked through the door and waited at the counter. Following behind him was a short and chubby girl with purple skin with lighter purple hair and stars cut out on her pants. You noticed the gem on her chest, reminding you of the gem in your pocket. "Steven you better hurry before I swear I will eat this whole shop. I'm trying hard to fight the urge," the purple girl said, staring wide eyed around the shop. Sadie appeared with who you guessed was Lars behind her. She got the boy's donuts and he dragged the girl out, saying her name was "Amethyst." You thought that was odd, but new places are always weird to you. Sadie and Lars walked over to you, sitting at the table. "So, you ready?" Sadie asked. Lars was leaning back in his chair, looking around boredly.
"Ready as I'll ever be!" You said.

The interview went well. They gave you the uniform and told you that you start next week. You left the Big Donut, waving the two a goodbye before walking off.
Pulling up the gem from your pocket, you smiled at it. "What? You belong to someone named Lapis like that Amethyst girl?" You said, not expecting a reply of course. You could've sworn the gem glowed but you decided it was just the sunlight reflecting off the gem. You put it back in your pocket and explored beach city some more. It was a small place, so you learned where everything was very quickly. After what seemed like half a day you looked at your watch, 4:30. You could go wander the beach some more, but you decided to get back to your sister. You had to admit, you were getting pretty tired. You walked back home, feeling the gem in your pocket from time to time.

You greeted your sister as you came through the door, letting out a tired sigh as you set the gem on your nightstand and flopped down on your bed.
"Hey, Y/N? I'm gonna go shopping. You need anything?" Your sister asked as she got her purse. "Nah." You said, not looking up. You heard her say okay and the door close and lock.
You got up, looking at the gem. You picked it up again and observed. Your eyes widened as the gem started glowing brighter and brighter until it started floating up in front of you and started shaping a human body around the gem. When the glowing dimmed down, there was a girl with blue skin, blue dress, and blue hair all in different tones, sitting on the floor with her back facing you. In the middle of her back behind the laces of a ribbon was... The gem that you found at the beach..?
