Chapter 11. Wave Pool

Yawning as you waved to the gems and Steven, wishing them all goodnight, you struggled to stay awake the whole walk home. Gosh, what time was it? 12:00? 1:00? Steven looked a little sleepy himself.
"Can you walk straight without me?" Lapis giggled. You've been leaning on her the entire time. "Nooooooo..." You replied quietly. Lapis giggled, keeping her arm around you. "You're lucky I don't need sleep," she said. Sleep. That sounded nice.
Lapis poked your face. "Don't fall asleep on me, (Y/N)!"
"Buut Lapiiiiiiiiiis!" You whined. Sighing, she picked you up bridal style and sprouted her wings. "You big baby," she chuckled. Folding your arms around her waist, you fell asleep while Lapis had barely any trouble flying back to the apartment doors.

She noticed you were deep asleep when she landed, her wings disappearing into her gem. Not wanting to disturb your sleep to ask you for a key, she took some water by a nearby puddle and shifted it into a key to fit the lock. Unlocking the door with the puddle water, she put the water back in the puddle and stepped inside, careful not to drop you. Tiana was about to blabber off in excitement but Lapis shushed her. Nodding in understanding, she shut her trap and let Lapis set you down on the bed. Kissing your forehead, she whispered a goodnight before crawling into the bed with you.

"(Y/N)! (Y/N)! (Y/N)! Wake up! Come on! Come on!" Lapis was prodding your side, desperate for you to wake up. "Ughhh.... What? Is the house flooded or something?" You groaned as you rolled over to look at her. "Um, no. But Tiana wants to know if you're not too busy drooling all over your pillow you could get ready so we can go to a waterpark!" Lapis said, grinning widely. You looked past Lapis at Tiana, who innocently shrugged. You sighed. "Fiiiiiine. You have to get off me, first," you giggled, lightly shoving Lapis. "Yessssss!" Lapis shouted in victory, sitting up so she was off of you. She kissed your cheek as you slid off. "Thank you so much! I love you, (Y/N)!" She squealed "Love you too, Lapis," you replied, kissing her head before getting ready.

Lapis stood right outside the bathroom door, waiting for you. "Hurry up, (Y/N)! Come on come on come on come on!" Lapis sounded like a child, but you knew that you and her both had a connection to water. Hers a little bit of a stronger connection.
"Lapis for the last time I can't reach behind my back to tie the swimsuit," you said, still attempting to tie the knot. Lapis sighed as she opened the door to help you. You blushed as she casually walked behind you and tied your top on. "Thanks, Lapis!" You said. You noticed when you turned around she was blushing even more than you were. "Laaaaaapis~! Don't tell me you were partially staring at me while you were tying my bathing suit!" You teased. She blushed a darker blue. "Um n-nO nOt at ALL," Lapis stuttered. "How scandalous!" You cried out sarcastically, trying your best not to laugh. Lapis caught on to your little joke and smirked, playing along. "You're right! I was staring upon your beautiful curves! I plead guilty!" She said dramatically, falling back into your arms. "I shall not let them take you away from me, gawking at my body or not! No royal guard nor diamond nor policeman nor president can stop me from loving you!" You kissed her nose. She giggled, spinning herself up, you suddenly found her face right in front of your own, only a few inches apart, her hands placed on your hips. Chuckling, you wrapped your arms around her waist and softly kissed her. She returned the kiss, passionate and pleased. Hearing your sister cough at the doorway, staring at the two of you, you pulled apart and laughed sheepishly.

Outside, making sure you had everything you needed in the car, Lapis did her gem appearance thing to give herself a bathing suit, a cute two piece with bows and ruffles.
"So what's a waterpark like?" Lapis asked, sliding into the backseat with you. "Well it has water, of course. But they've made water more fun than it already is," you tried to explain, buckling yourself in. Lapis copied you, leaning forward a bit since she was very self conscious about her gem. "So, how about some music?" Tiana asked, holding up her Pandora station. You nodded, since the Waterpark was at least half an hour away. Tiana clicked on the station that she customized just for herself, the first song to play being "Shower" by Becky G. Lapis listened to the music, fascinated. "You light me up inside like the Fourth of July, whenever you're around I always seem to smile," you sang while winking at Lapis. She giggled and sang with you, even if she didn't know the lyrics, she did her best.
