Chapter 12. Misunderstanding

Warning!! Neck nibbling not safe for Steven ahead! Not a lemon chapter though don't look at me like that.)

There was a knock at the door the day after the next, having spent your second day at Funland with Steven and Lapis. You and Lapis were cuddling while watching The X-files in the afternoon. The doorbell rang.
"I'll get it!" She jumped up. You still followed, but only until you reached around to the turn that went from the bedroom area to the kitchen area. Lapis opened the door, but only froze at the figure in front of her. "It's been two days, Lapis..." Steven said. He seemed awfully calm, while You and Lapis were screaming internally. You walked up to Lapis. "I'm going with you," you said. She looked at you and nodded. Grabbing your hand, she followed Steven out the door while you stayed at her pace. This is it. This is the end. This is our goodbye.
Abruptly, Lapis stopped. "Steven do we... Have to be there at a certain time?" She asked. Steven thought for a moment. "No... I don't think so... I'm sure 10 minutes couldn't hurt..." He said. "Thank you, Steven," Lapis kneeled down and hugged him, whispering something before walking back to you and picking you up, starting to fly off.
You knew where she was taking you.

Landing on the same beach she had first kissed you on, before you could ask why you were here she already had you tackled to the ground. You yelped, hitting the pebbly sand with Lapis looming over you. "Lapis, what was that fo-mmph!" You started to protest but she cut you off with a kiss. She hadn't said anything, which scared you a bit. Giving up on trying to figure out her behavior, you leaned into the kiss from your position on the ground. Feeling Lapis's hands slowly find your own and hold your hands there made you tense up slightly. Noticing this, she pulled back. "Is something the matter?" She furrowed her brows. Her fingers curled a bit, like she was going to slide off and sit up. "N-no just... I've never seen this side of you before..." You said, not looking into her eyes. Lapis smiled. "I never even knew I had this side."
"Lapis we have like 7 minutes before we have to get back to Steven," you looked at your watch. Lapis bashfully chuckled. Giggling, you flipped over, turning the tables on Lapis. She giggled along with you, but let out a broken croak of a gasp as you nibbled her neck. "(Y-Y/N)" her voice cracked. You pulled back. "Oooh come on. There's only 7 minutes to do this, don't tell me, you want me to stop?" You asked, smirking. Lapis's face burned up as she tilted her head to the side, exposing her neck. "Just k-keep doing what y-your doing..." She whispered. Well this is an interesting goodbye, you thought as you continued nibbling, also biting and sucking now, looking around for her sweet spot. Did she even have one? You didn't know but you kept looking, earning moans that sounded like a kitten's mewling from Lapis.
Lapis let out a louder moan when you found her sweet spot. You put her through pure torture by just grazing your teeth over it. She quivered under your weight. Smirking, you stopped teasing the spot, letting her feel your breath on her neck.
"(Y/N), the time!" She said, staring at your watch. Those 7 minutes you had before had passed. You now have two minutes to clean yourself off and quickly fly back to Steven. Rolling off Lapis, you quickly brushed yourself off. She hopped into the water, the sand brushing off in the waves. Quickly picking you up, she flew as fast as she could to where you both left Steven. Beginning to panic, you didn't see him there. Landing, you were both relieved when he ran around to see you. "Alright! Let's go! Also, what did you guys do for those 10 minutes you were gone?" He asked, tilting his head at you. "Oh, heh... We just checked out this one place!" Lapis hastily said. Steven, being oblivious, just made a comment on how you and Lapis were a cute couple before walking back.
Arriving at the temple, the crystal gems were waiting outside. Pearl had her eyes narrowed at Lapis, before looking surprised and walking over to Garnet, whispering something in her ear. Garnet turned her attention to Lapis before shrugging and mumbling something in response. Making your way up with Lapis, you heard Amethyst snicker. Pearl casted the small gem a glare before uncomfortably looking at you and Lapis. "We'll be taking her back now..." She said carefully. Amethyst huffed. "You two look like you're going to take her away forever or something!"
That's exactly what they're going to do, is it not? You asked yourself within your mind. "Pfffft. Obviously they thought so. Listen, (Y/N). We're only going to test her to make her a crystal gem. Steven's idea," she said. Pearl and Garnet looked a bit guilty, obviously they were persuaded by the young boy. Letting this all sink in, you found Lapis looking at you with starry eyes again. "Go ahead," Garnet smiled, knowing exactly what you were going to do. Nearly tackling Lapis, you showered her in kisses and tears.
"You get to stay, Lapis! You get to stay!" You whispered to her. "I'll always stay, (Y/N)," she sniffled. Calming down, you brushed her blue bangs out of her eyes and wiped away her tears with your thumb. You kissed her nose before standing back up. "When will she be able to come back from the tests?" You asked as you helped Lapis up from off the ground. "Maybe around... Three to Four days. Lazuli is a clever gem, she is only thought to get it done in that many days. However we hold her to few expectations, she doesn't need to change much at all," Pearl said, waving her hands in particular motions to emphasize that she has all the facts. Her 'I know everything and you don't' facial expression disappeared when Amethyst was snickering again. "Amethyst, PLEASE! Control yourself!" Pearl squawked. Of course, Amethyst stopped but she looked like she'd lose it. Fully composing herself again, she stood by Lapis. "Well, yeah. Now you know. Couple days apart. Won't be long. Hope you two can wait that long," Amethyst said. "And the sooner she starts, the better," Garnet added. Lapis smiled. "I can start in a couple hours, is that alright?" She asked. Pearl looked like she was about to say something but Amethyst covered her mouth. "Yes that's fine with us please go hang out with (Y/N) some more so that we don't have to part you two in tears once again," She said quickly. Pearl had a confused look on her face but Amethyst just grinned at her. "Let it happen, P. Let it happen."
Before you could leave, Garnet cleared her throat once Pearl took Steven and Amethyst to leave inside to look over the tests for any bugs. "Lapis... You might want to look at your neck," she said, chuckling and following them back inside. Puzzled, you looked at Lapis's neck for yourself and face-palmed. "What?" She asked, not being able to look at her neck. "Ohhh man. Hopefully Steven didn't know what those are," you looked half crazed. "(Y/N) what is wrong with my neck?!" Lapis sounded a bit fearful. "I left bite marks, Lapis. I left bite marks. And they're visible. Really visible. If anyone over 13 saw them they know what they are. Ohhhhh my god," you were smiling at your own stupidity. That's what Amethyst's been snickering about. That's why Pearl sounded uncomfortable. How did you not nOTICE THIS????? Lapis's voice interrupted your scolding thoughts. "Well, whatever you started you have to  finish."
