There we were in front of the Nichols' house, talking and somehow rehearsing the stuff and shit we were supposed to say. Laura and Harvey were crazy nervous even when I already told Harvey to not go. He was probably scared because he was the father, but I felt like it was gonna be okay since we only have to do the whole Juno thing.
"I never once thought in my whole life that when I see the gates of hell, it'd look like our front door." Laura said.
"It's gonna be okay." I went to the door and started to knock. Additionally, I borrowed mom's car so we didn't have to take a cab and that Harvey could just stay there the whole time. "Harvey, get in the car, and don't let them see you."
"They haven't really met me." Alex smiled at me, and Harvey went on his way to the car. "Maybe I could help with the whole talking thing."
"Are you sure you don't want to stay in the car and keep Harvey some company?" I asked. "We are doing the whole Juno thing, and Juno was with her best friend. Laura and I are like their counterparts in real life."
"I'm pretty sure every pregnant teenage girl would have her best friend do the talking." Laura added. "Alex, you should come too despite us trying to achieve the whole Juno counterpart thing."
"Well..." Alex patted Laura's shoulder. "Lucky for you, I'm a great talker. It's why I get popular really quick."
"He's got a point." I pointed.
"Oh, honey!" Mrs. Nichols exclaimed as she opened the door and saw us. She went ahead and gave Laura a hug. "Welcome home! It's eight in the evening, but we still got food there. They're probably cold now though."
"It's okay." Laura said. "I already ate."
"Hello, Liyah!" she gave me a hug too. "Where's Harvey?"
"Happy Thanksgiving, Mrs. Nichols!" I hugged back. "Unfortunately, Har"
"Hi! I'm Alexander! You can call me Alex or Sander." Alex offered her a hand.
"Oh, hi! I've heard about you. You're Liyah's boyfriend, right?" she accepted the handshake.
"Oh..." he paused for a sec. "Yes! Yes, I am!"
"It's cold out there. Come in! Come in!" she opened the door further and let us in.
Skipping the whole introductory parts of Alex and Laura's dad, we got them to the living room, and we were about to tell them the truth. It was that exact same set as the Juno thing, plus Alex. Mr. and Mrs. Nichols were seated on their couch, and we were standing in front of them, about to tell them the awful-but-not-so-surprising news.
"Mom... Dad," Laura started.
"Is this really how they started it in the Juno scene?" I kidded.
"Laura, are you preggers?" her mom asked.
"Oh my God, please stop using that word!" she yelled. "And how did you know I was preggers?"
"It's a very hip and new way of saying pregnant, but it sounds way better and less awkward." Alex replied.
"Come on, honey. You think I haven't watched Juno?" she replied. "And what the hell! You're pregnant! Plus, there's a bulk on your shirt. It had to be something."
"You told me it didn't seem too noticeable!" she yelled at me.
"I'm sorry, I didn't think they'd notice." I replied.
