A few days after New Years eve, Harvey and I went on our short journey to Winnie's house as I had promised him I'd help him with the apology. I also thought it was a good thing to get a little bit of closure since it was a rape case... sort of. Anyway, Harvey and I shared a silent moment as he drove me with the car he borrowed. It wasn't snowing, but Neptune was still covered white in snow, so it was a bit of a hassle driving.

"Hey..." Harvey started as he was driving. I, staring at the wonderful snow-filled environment outside, turned to Harvey. "I never really got a chance to ask about how it went with Ken."

"Oh." I said. "I haven't really done anything. I greeted him during Christmas, but as usual, he didn't reply."

"What?" he laughed. "Why haven't you broken up with him? He cheated on you."

"The truth is..." I sighed. "I really don't know. I just don't know what to do with myself these days. I haven't told Laura, so please don't tell her. If she finds out, she's gonna junk kick Ken."

"Probably." He chuckled. "So how are things at your house? Is the fact that your ex is living with you driving you crazy with lust?"

"I had sex with him."

"What!" he exclaimed with excitement. "You had sex with Alex? Liyah, you sneaky sneaky bitch."

"We were drunk, so we agreed to not make a big deal out of it."

"So, now you cheated on Ken. You're even." He laughed.

"I know that you know that I don't really care that much about Ken's affair." I said.

"True. You're just making Alex jealous which is why you got a boyfriend, right?" He continued. "But you were afraid to end it with Ken because you couldn't get back with Alex because you pushed him to Janine, right?"

"Damn it. You're better at analyzing than Laura." I replied. "Wait, how are you not nervous about seeing Winnie? The last time you talked, she yelled you out of her house."

"I'm actually very nervous." He replied. "Are we supposed to have a plan or something?"

"No, we'll be fine, I guess." I tried to calm him down though I wasn't exactly sure if it was going to be fine. "We'll be fine..."

Not too long later, we got to Winnie's mansion. It looked the same like before, only a little more covered in snow. Harvey and I parked and walked out towards their front door. It gave me the chills as it flashed so many memories of Alex and me.

"I'm a little nervous..." he started as we made our way to the front door. "Are you sure about this thing? I'm starting to have second thoughts."

"Harvey..." I stopped him. "You said it yourself. She deserves to get some closure. You need to apologize to her properly. Your drunken apology to her two years ago didn't really go well. I was actually really happy when you told me you wanted to do this. Please don't back out of it now."

"All right." He took a deep breath. "Okay. Let's go."

We went on and pressed the doorbell from the front door, and it took seconds before Winnie's mom went and opened the door. She was a bit happy to see me, but she didn't really know Harvey.

"Liyah!" she was a bit surprised but a little happy. "What a surprise!"

"Hi, Mrs. Vortex! Happy New Year!" I greeted. "Uhm... We were hoping to see Winnie."

"Oh..." she reacted as she opened the door further for us to come in. "Winnie's upstairs in her room. Come in."

"I'm Harvey, by the way, miss." He offered her a hand, and she shook it as we went in the warm mansion of the Vortex's.
