"I have an announcement to make." Alastair sweeped to the middle of the office. My eyes glittered. One week has happened since our little façade. He has been visiting daily. The office knows nothing about this ofcourse, it'll be too awkward if they did. He has been really sweet, but we have maintained our distance. Currently, I don't even know what's going on between us. Are we a couple, or friends? I cringe at the 'friends' word. I make a mental note in my head to ask him about it later.
He starts,"It's been around a month since I joined the office and we have our first official party up." There are whispers around the people. "There's a white party by Roberts and Co. One which all of you have to attend. You all know the rules of such parties, everyone has to dress in white, ladies in evening dresses and men in formals. You may or may not get along a date, but I suggest you get someone with you. It's day after tomorrow at the, venue will be mentioned in the invitation card. I forgot the name actually." He grins adorably.
All the females sigh. He is so charming, I'm not the only one under his spell. It somehow makes me proud that this walking stash of good looks wants me. He smiles and washes his eyes over me and gets down. Some employees turn back to look at me, I wipe the hearts-in-eyes look off my face.
"You'll be coming right?" He asks as he drops me near my house. Ever since we accepted our feelings, if that's what you call it, he has been picking me up and dropping me off everyday. The chaffeur has been given other work and it's only us.
"Alastair?"
"Yes?"
"What is this between us?"
"Air."
"Come on now, stop kidding around. I mean to say, what are we? What is our relationship? Are we a couple, are we going out, like what exactly?"
"We're, I guess, two people in love. Does that answer your question?"
"Okay."
"And you're coming to that party with me."
"Do I have an option?"
"Well yes, there are many. But you'll come with me. We'll enter seperately though, the employees shouldn't know. Relationships work best when people don't know about your business."
"So this is a relationship?"
He smiles. "It always has been. More of an unspoken bond."
"Bye." I say and walk off.
"I love you." He shouts from the car. People in the lobby look up at who said that but he has already driven off.

Alastair
I wear my all white formals and spray some deo on my body. I have to smell good for her. Combing back my hair and leaving the stubble on my face, I call for the chaffeur. Grace will come directly from her place. It'll be a pleasure looking at her. From drunk high school parties, we've come to formal white ones. We're grown up now. Maybe I couldn't grow up with her, but I certainly want to grow old with her. I check myself and head to the basement below.
Yesterday I couldn't tell her about Paige, she interrupted me. And today I can't talk to her about it, because I don't intend to spoil the mood. I'm stuck. I push that issue at the back of my mind and sit in the car instead, asking my driver to start.
I turn up at the venue. A few reporters are scattered around who come up to me. I smile for the camera and answer their impersonal questions regarding the new business merger. I enjoy this attention, but I'm not desperate for it. In a way, it was what I hoped to achieve. Command and complete power. I am then ushered inside by the manager. The place is decked from ceiling to floor in white. The curtains, the tables, even the wine is white. I've come a long way from the poor working boy I was. Hard work and focus remained the same though. And love for a certain brown haired girl also remained the same.
"Mr. Roberts." I aknowledge the man and shake his hand.
"I hope you're doing well with the new boss."
I smirk. "Very well."
"Paige is missing you." He says, drinking his wine.
I don't miss her. "I miss her too."
"I got to know that you aren't calling her. Don't tell me you're cheating behind my girl's back Kerr."
Can this man read minds? "Oh I assure you it's nothing like that. I've just been very busy and exhausted. I'll call her today itself."
"Sure. Mind you, if you ever hurt her, it will be extremely bad for you."
I gulp. I don't mean to cheat on Paige. I don't if it's cheating or not. But that girl clearly lunged at me. With manipulation and blackmails, she trapped me. I clearly rejected her and then she got her father into this. And after that when I didn't push her away, she thought I loved her. What's worse is that she thinks she loves me. All bullshit. The more people I meet, the more I realize how perfect Grace is.
I keep looking at the door and then I see her.
Dressed impecabbly in a white net mid lenght dress, she looked gorgeous. She's left that brown mess on her head open and has worn red lipstick. If she was cutely pretty before, she was smoking hot now. Without even exposing anything, not her legs, not her cleavage. Girls nowadays need to learn that sexiness isn't all about exposure. And right now, Grace is in her element. She winks at me and then looks away. I expect her to come prancing towards me. But she's headed some other way. Fuck so she is ignoring me. I look around the room. Most of the men's eyes are on her. I'll punch them in. She goea and stands near the bar, asking for a wine.
From a distance, I see a blondie going to approach her. Let's just wait now.

Gracie
He is looking so fucking stunning. But I have to control my hormones. I tear my eyes away from him and walk upto the bar. Let him chase me, I need some attention from one man right now. He didn't shave, good thing, his stubble gives him a mature look.
I order a wine when a young blonde man approaches me. He is goodlooking, but it won't be fair if I compare everyone to Alastair.
"Hey." He smiles, coming in too close.
I lean away from him and smile back.
"What's your dear name?" He asks. Who uses dear nowadays? Like seriously, dear looks good only on informal letters.
I was about to say my name but he didn't wait for that too. Instead, he just leaned in more and kept his fingers on my hand. I pulled away in shock. "Will you have a dance with me?"
"Uh no." Is all I can stutter.
He comes in more. "Say yes."
"I think the lady said no."
Oh heave. His voice. He's here at the right time. And this guy is in major trouble.
