While the Diana Ross song continued to play, the quintet, exited the sound booth, heading to the back room and the large shelf against the back wall. Nancy pulled out a set of keys, moving an empty box aside and revealing a hole in the wall with a lock inside. She inserted the key, hearing it click open. Jonathan and Kimmy moved the shelving unit, revealing a secret staircase to the basement of the radio station.
Nancy, Robin, and Jonathan filed down stairs first, leaving Steve and Kim on the landing.
"After you," Steve said gesturing dramatically for his girlfriend to go in front of him.
She giggled, shaking her head at his antics as she started down the stairs. Steve pulled the shelves back into place before following downstairs after the rest of the group.
In the basement of the Squawk, Nancy and Jonathan quickly set up the projector. Once the maps and grids were clearly illuminated up on the blank wall, Nancy started explaining their plan. Jonathan, Robin, Steve, and Kim sat listening like attentive students.
"Alright, so, assuming Murray's intel is correct, the supply convoy is set to reach Hawkins at 10:00 sharp," Nance began, using a ruler to trace the roads on the map. "Meaning, I want Hopper in the tunnels and en route to the MAC-Z no later than 9:00. Mike and Lucas will take their usual observation post in the clock tower. barring unusual traffic, I expect the convoy to reach MAC-Z at 10:15. Once the burn starts and there's enough cover, Mike and Lucas will signal to Hopper for him to move. And now the crawl begins. Hop is now in the Upside Down, traveling at what I hope to be a gentle thirty miles an hour, which will allow you--" she pointed with her ruler Steve, "and Dustin to follow Hopper in the Rightside Up. Remember to try and keep the telemetry tracker signal within the correct dB."
"Negative 60 and negative 70, baby," Steve confirmed.
Nancy nodded, glad that he understood. "I expect the convoy to take the same route as last month. Main to Cornwallis, one turn. But if you guys hit any red lights--"
"--I'll blow right through 'em," Steve finished.
Kim rolled her eyes. "Only if you're not going to kill yourself or my brother in the process. No car crashes, please and thank you."
"And only if there's no MPs around," Nancy added. "Remember, if you guys get pulled over, we lose Hop, we're toast."
"I got it," Steve raised his hands in surrender. Turning to Kim with a smirk he said, "I'll only crash the van a little bit."
"Not funny, Harrington," she glared.
"You'll be on Cornwallis for about six miles," Nancy went on. "And as the convoy reaches this Shell station, we radio Hop to disembark, dropping him at the border of G1. There, he'll have two whole hours to search for Venca, which is ample time. He's cleared zones much faster. So, all in all, signs point to another successful crawl."
