We move only with the cover of night. Bura extends his cloak around himself and deepens the shade to conceal himself, housing Amber in it as well since she doesn't really have a method of her own to keep out of sight. Blackie spreads his body's ooze over his markings and gems so that they don't glow in the dark. Crimson himself is already equipped with a tunic that darkens according to the environment. All he does is leap silently along the rooftops. My hands purple, I cast an invisibility spell. With this, no one sees us no matter how hard they look.

By day, we hide in the least populated areas. We've had a few close calls, of course, but no one has officially caught us. Not yet, at least. It would be best to keep ourselves covered. In those hidden areas, we sleep or nap to recover our energy. Two of us always stay awake in shifts to watch for anyone.

Night falls once more. Crimson gestures for us to follow him out of the place we're staying at, which we do. We hop on rooftops and sense for Sapphire's energy since she's supposed to be here. Surprisingly, her energy and the energies of the other Numbers  ring out strongly.

"They're close," I tell the others mentally. "I cannot tell how close, but they are close."

"Which direction?" Crimson asks. I point to where the energy is most prominent. We all rush in that direction that I point. Once again, Crimson leads to make sure that we stay hidden even though we're all pretty much well-concealed. Still, it's better to be safe than sorry.

The night drags on until morning. When the sun starts peeking over the horizon,  we quickly find somewhere to hide until nightfall. We end up staying in an old, rundown shack in the middle of the town, but no one will look here. The amount of Human energy is very faint, meaning no one has been here in years. We settle for this area. Amber and Crimson stay up to watch their shift, and the rest of us get comfy in the various sleeping spots and go to sleep.

Crimson shakes us all awake. I snap awake well into the afternoon, and he hisses, "Wake up! Someone's out there, and we need to move!"

Some of us are still tired, but we get up quickly and look around for some place to escape without being noticed.

The flame ninja suddenly points up. "There!" He points to the roof. "There are no windows here except for that one. That is our ticket out! Nova, cast an invisibility spell on all of us!"

I nod, and my hands turn once again purple. This doesn't take as much energy as flying, but I still have to save energy, so I make us transparent instead of invisible. Crimson extends his hands. Blackie takes his left hand, and I take my brother's free hand. Bura takes his left hand, and Amber holds her brother's hand. Crimson makes sure that we're all hanging on tightly.

"I heard something in here, man," an adolescent male voice said. "There's gotta be something in here!"

"I dunno, Zach." This one was a girl. "No one's been here for years. I don't think anyone's in there."

"There's someone in here." He started trying to open the door, but all that happened was shaking of the door. It starts crumbling.

The ninja sees this out of the corner of his eye, which flicks over then up. He starts jumping from wall to wall just like in that cave with the candles. We soon reach the rooftop, but not without being found out. The door caves in, and the teenaged boy sees us and gapes at us. He and I make eye contact, my own eyes widening when I realize that he knows now, and maybe he'll call in reinforcements. Crimson sees this as well, and he takes no time in breaking the roof window with his head alone. Without checking for injuries, which is rare of him to do, he quickly runs in a random direction. His speed quickly picks up.
