The same man that offered to buy them food also offered them a place to sleep at his house. The children accepted it, though Ichigo was a little wary about the arrangement. Buying them food was one thing, but staying at some stranger's house was another thing and certainly something her parents warned her about. Even so, they needed a place to stay, and Sei couldn't loot some money because they were too focused on getting to the volcano. She would just settle for watching over the younger ones for now.

They followed the man to his house after they went to the store to buy them groceries. Inside of the house, a woman and a child awaited the return of their husband and father. The quartet of children noticed the people inside, their eyes widening drastically. Was he married?

"Mag, who are these children?" the woman asked curiously. "Where are they from?"

"I don't really know," the man, Mag, stated. "They seemed lost, though so I thought we could lend them a room, Serci."

Serci smiled. "Of course. They may stay as long as they don't interfere with things, okay?" She looked pointedly at the children, who nodded slightly.

"Thank you," they all said in unison. Sei, who was raised by traditional methods from his grandfather, bowed low to show respect.

Mag showed them to a room that was not being used so they could rest. The four plopped onto the bed and settled down as the sun started its journey under the horizon.

"Where should we go next?" Coal asked excitedly.

"Actually, I think we should be getting back pretty soon," Ichigo stated calmly. "Our parents and Sei's grandpa might start worrying too much. We can explore the other places at a later time when we're free to roam around, okay?"

Crystal, Sei, and Coal all whined and groaned in protest; Ichigo slammed her hand against the bed to get their attention again. It wasn't harsh; she just needed to get their attention.

"Stop it, you three! We'll continue, but just not at this age!"

"Fine..." they grumbled.

"Good. Now, let's go to sleep."

the children said goodbye to the family that housed them and thanked them as well. They looked for the border that would take them back home, but the only problem with that was that they had no idea how it looked like. However, it didn't take very long to find it.

Unlike the other borders, they found one that showed a vision of the Number Kingdom. There were even Numbers bustling about! An obstacle stood in their way, though, and the form it took was that of a warrior man clad in white and black. He looked down at them sternly.

"Who goes there?" he demanded.

"Sei, Crystal, Coal, and me." Ichigo bravely spoke up.

"Those who are not Numbers may not pass!" He then looked down at Crystal, seeming to know exactly what she was. "The only exceptions are Synchro Monsters and other kinds." He looked at Sei, Coal, and Ichigo. "You three, present your Numbers if you have them."

Ichigo craned her neck, Coal lowered the neck of his loose shirt, and Sei turned his head so the man could see the side of it. The man inspected each Number, making sure that none of them were forged in order to gain entry. Satisfied with the results, he allowed all four of them to pass through the border.

~.Time Skip.~

By the time they were teenagers, they had explored all of the Territories. They had also caught wind that there might be a battle soon because of some political dispute. Sei took charge of what was to be done concerning the four of them.
