Losing It

I had heard everything he said. He was leaving.

The tears fell from my eyes as I watched him look up at me then climb in his car and drive off without a glance back. I walked away from the window as it starting pouring down rain. Lightning struck and the sound of thunder rumbled making the house shake.

I threw my hands in my hair as I paced around the room. The anger bubbled inside me and I walked over to my desk and ran my arms across the top making everything fly off the top. My laptop flung across the room and smashed against the wall causing an unpleasant crack to ring through my ears. I brought my hand out, using my powers to sling the door shut and lock it. I take my bookshelf and knock it to the floor. I use my powers to throw my mattress onto the floor.

"Why?!" I screamed pushing my fingers into my hair and tugging at the ends. "Why does everything bad happen to me?" I whispered to myself.

"Addilyn!" Scott called but I ignored him. "Addilyn open the door!" He said banging on the door.

"Leave me alone Scott!" I exclaimed but he ignored my request as well.

"Addilyn, I swear to God-" He yells but then I cut him off.

"I said leave me alone!" I yelled angrily and the drapes on my windows caught fire. I screamed and began looking around trying to find something to put it out with. The drapes fell onto my bed causing my sheets to catch fire. "No, no, no!" I cried loudly as Scott's screams filled the background. He busted through the door and I snapped my head over to him. His facial expression was surprised and he began scurrying through my room then to the bathroom. He dumped the garbage that was in my basket onto the floor then put it in the tub and filled it with water.

He ran over to my bed threw the bucket of water on top of my bed causing the fire to go out. He sighed in relief and I wiped my face of my tears but that didn't help as more fell. He looked over at me with an angry expression.

"What were you thinking?!" He yelled angrily at me.

"I-I didn't mean to, I swear!" I cried putting my hands up but immediately pulled them back towards myself afraid of what I'd do next.

"But you did! Seriously Addilyn what the hell?!" He screams and I flinch away the tears falling more down my face.

"I'm sorry! I just got upset and-"

"And nothing! You have to stop! You have to control your powers! This isn't a good thing, you have to learn to control it! Good God Addie, you almost burned the house down!" He yells at me and I turn away crying. "I tried Addilyn! I tried to help him, and to keep him from going for you!"

"What does that have to do with anything? I know you did, I know you tried! I heard the whole thing! I'm sorry Scott! I didn't mean to, honestly!" He just looked at me and shook his head. He turned away and walked out of the room with no look back. I picked up my phone and dialed Slylars number.

"Hello?" She answered and I let out a sob. "Oh my god, Addilyn what's wrong?" She asks.

"H-he left me and I-I almost burned down my r-room." I sobbed.

"Okay, okay, calm down. Pack a bag, I'm coming to get you." She says to me and I nod even though she couldn't see me.

"Okay." I sniffled.

"Okay, I'll be there in 10 minutes." She hangs up the phone and I grab a bag. I look through my closet then begin grabbing handfuls of clothes and shoving them inside my bag. I walked to the bathroom and threw my makeup bag, hair brush, flat iron, and curling iron inside my bag before zipping it shut. I put on my combat boots, grabbed my phone and charger then walked out my door.

I trudged down the stairs, through the front door and slammed it as I exited. I walked out to the side of the street and waited for Skylar to arrive.

I saw headlights coming down the street and her car appearing infront of me. I climbed in the passenger seat, threw my bag in the back as she began driving off.

"So... Care to explain what fully happened?" She asks and I sigh.

I explained everything to her as we drove back to her house. She stayed silent and listened closely as I explained everything. When we pulled into the drive and as we walked up to her house I finished explaining. We walked inside and she set her things down then turned to me.

"You know he really is stupid." She says bluntly. My eyes widen at her sudden disliking. I understood but she never got like this. "I mean honestly Addie, who the hell treats you like shit, verbally anyway, then says they're sorry and then goes back to treating you like shit then leaves? Honestly, explain to me who the hell does that!" She says furiously. "Oh yeah! Then tells you that they love you! I'm not saying he doesn't love you, because he does anyone can tell just my looking at him and the fact that he talks about you 24/7. I just don't understand." She throws her hands up then they fall limp and slap her thighs. "It's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. He's so stupid! And Scott? Don't even get me started, because he knows that you have a lot on your plate right now and he shouldn't have yelled at you especially since you didn't mean to set your curtains on fire, but-"

"You set your curtains on fire?" Liam asks causing the both of us to jump.

"Yes, she did. Liam what are you doing here?" Skylar asks making Liam sigh and shake his head.

"I came you see you, duh, but you weren't here so I figured I'd stick around for a bit until you got home." He smiles and Skylar shakes her head.

"Liam, I'm sorry but not right now. A lot is going on and I just really need to help Addie." Skylar says sadly and I immediately felt guilty.

"Oh. Is everything okay?" He asks and Skylar opens her mouth to talk but I beat her to it.

"Brett and Scott had a fight, Brett then left town, I got mad and almost burned my room down because I couldn't control my powers." I replied quickly. He looked at me and laughed.

"That's pretty damn cool!" Liam exclaims and Skylar gives him a look while I look away. "No, not the Brett running away and stuff I was talking about you setting your room on fire with your powers." He replies dumbly but Skylar shushes him. "I'll come back tomorrow or something. Text me okay?"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, where do you think you're going? You're going to go out and find him." Skylar raises her eyebrows while I furrowed mine. What the hell is she doing?

"Wait, what do you mean?" Liam questions looking at her like she was crazy.

"You, along with Stiles, Lydia, Malia, Parrish, and Stiles' dad are gonna go find him. That little bitch isn't going anywhere. We need to get him back here and fix things. He thinks that since Gabe died on his watch, that he can blame himself then treat everyone especially my best friend like shit. That's not gonna happen, I'm gonna straighten his ass up because he's not getting away with this. Once you find him you will get Scott here to then all the exits are going to be blocked off so neither of them can run. Understood?" She explains cockily.

For once in my life time I was scared of my best friend and what she'd do.

"Skylar." I shook my head.

"No. It needs to be done, and whether you like it or not it will be done. Whether it's by me or yourselves." She says to me then turns back to Liam. "Got it?" She asks him and he nods. "Good. I'll call everyone else." She smiles kindly and walks away.

"Am I the only one that's scared of her?" I squeezed and looked as she talked on the phone.

"No. I'm scared to." Liam says before exiting the house leaving me there by myself.

Brett, you messed with the wrong best friend. You're screwed.

I start school on Monday (August 24th) so I don't know when I'll be able to update when it does.
