"There's different ways." Montanna says looking down, deep in thought, "Well we know the basics of how to use powers so we could get you to try someone those and see if they work?"

"I'm up for anything." I say.

"Ok why don't we do the energy test first? Obviously you aren't a wind element because of the weather doesn't have anything to do with your emotions. And you can't be a shifter because you can't shift into your wolf yet. So for the energy test I'm gonna run at you like I'm gonna tackle you and you just do this," Montanna shoves her hands out in front of her, one over the other, and I feel a small joult hit me, making me stumble back a few steps, "Don't think, just react." Montanna said then walked back a little ways.

She ran towards me and when she got a few feet away I remembered what I needed to do, shoving my hands out towards her. Nothing happened and I kept repeating this.

Then Montanna skidded to a stop a few inches from me.

"Well," Annabell started, "She isn't an Energy."

After multipul "test" as they had called them, we were finally down to the last one, Fire Element. I was really hopefull, I wanted to be a fire element.

"Okay ... Here." Aubrey says after arranging a pile of wood and old dried up grass in the middle of a dirt spot. "This is where mommy practices her fire, so you can try it here too. Now just focus on the wood burning and... Picture it's on fire... just keep trying." She encourages me as I glare at the wood.

Ok, I can do this. Just picture it on fire... I picture it on fire, glowing and crackling, the flames dancing and small sparks shooting off. I close my eyes and focus on the fire in my mind. Slowly I open my eyes, nothing.

I let out an annoyed sigh and crossed my arms. "It's okay .. just try again." Annabell cheered me on. I nod and close my eyes again, focusing on the fire. I imagined the sparks, and it's brightness, its smell and its sound.

Then I realized what I was missing.

I was missing the warmth.

I focused on the feeling of warmth washing over my skin, the feeling of happiness you get when you come in from the cold to a warm fire place, the feeling of heat and coziness.

Then Montanna, Aubrey and Annabell all gasped.

My eyes flew open, and in front of me was the wood, burning bright like the fire in my mind, but this time it was real. The fire and it's warmth was real. The sounds, the sparks, all real. I did it, I'm a fire element.

All the girls pulled me into their arms and congratulated me on being a Fire Element.

"You can take lessons from Mom, since she is too." Aubrey says.

"But for now we need to get back to the house, it's almost night and I think it's going to rain..." Montanna says and looks at me, trying to muffle a giggle, "There must be something wrong with Sam!" she sighs rolling her eyes and turns around on her heels then burst into a sprint into the woods. Aubrey sticks her hand out at the fire and a stream of water sprays from her hand, putting out my fire. The idea made me sad, that my first fire had to be put out, but I would deal with it. No biggy.

Annabell shifts into a cheetah and runs after Montanna, growling. I giggle and walk back with Aubrey, my not-so-new sister.

Just that on its own was shocking; I had a sister. But then there's more, I have a brother too. And a mom and dad. And even mate.

Aubrey and I made it back to the house to be greeted by Isaac running through the front doors to meet us, he looked annoyed and worried at the same time.

"Cassie!," He yells as he runs down the steps, two at a time, "Cassie, we need you to go tell sam that you aren't rejecting him before lightening strikes! Or a hurricane touches down! Or we have an earthquake!" Isaac yells, even though he's standing right in front of me. Montanna takes his shoulders and shakes him, "Calm down!" She turns and looks at me, "Would you please go calm Sam down?"

"Uh- sure. Where is he?" I ask, directing my gaze to Isaac. "Um... He's actually in your room..." Isaac mumbles. I sigh and shake my head as I start jogging in the house. I don't know how i remember where my room is, but some how I do. I remember this house perfectly, like I've lived here all my life.

I make my way up the stairs to the second floor and walk down the long hall to the second door on the right. I knock softly before pushing the door open, I could sense him from the stairs and his smell hit me when I entered the house. He was - no doubtidly - my mate.

I peer around the door to see Sam sitting on my bed, his elbows on his knees and his head in his hands. I take a few steps in the room, quietly.

"Sam? Are you okay?" I ask softly. "What? Why do you care? You're rejecting me, I know you are. I should never have scared you like that!" Sam jumps up and runs over to me, holding my shoulders firmly, "Please, please Cassie, please don't reject me. I'm so sorry I scared you, please! ... Please.." he trails off, looking in my eyes. His eyes are full of saddness and hope and love and lust.

"Sam, I'm not rejecting you. I could never... Listen to me. I don't want you to ever be like this again. I don't really understand everything yet, but I care about you and I would never push you away ... I couldnt." I snake my arms around his neck as I finish and his arms fall to my waist. He smiles, huge and he looks thrilled. It makes me smile a little.

Then he leans closer to me, slowly closing his eyes.

He wants to kiss me.
