Sam's wolf was beautiful, he had a white coat with light grey specks lightly and breath taking blue eyes. I could only hope when I shifted that my wolf would be half as beautiful. I knew there were pictures of me as a pup, but they were at home.

Home.

Home was the Dusk pack, and that was where we were heading. I would never be able to call another place home, even if I still felt attached to the rouge base, that place wasn't my home, it was my past, and even more it was my prison.

As Sam ran the wind wipped my hair across my face and stung. I leaned forward and burried my face in his fur. His scent was amazing, it smelled like vanilla and fresh air and it surrounded me and I laid down in his fur, wrapping my arms and legs around him to hold on.

I didn't realize I had gone to sleep until it was time to wake up. We had stopped just outside of the Dusk boundaries to rest for a second and decide how we were going to go about this, for all we knew they probably thought that Sam and I were dead, so we had to be carful about how we went about this. Not to mention we had Heriott with us, who was also supposidly dead.

This wasn't going to be easy.

We all sat down, everyone else had shifted into human form, in a circle on a patch of dirt. It looked like it might have been a spot where someone had gone camping at one time in the past, but the grass was starting to grow through the ashes from a fire not far from where we sat. Fire, my Girt, fire was another form of myself.

"So..." Heriott started, "Any ideas?"

"We just need to walk in there. It's not like we don't belong, this is our home for crying out loud." Sam said, he sounded almost angry that we had thought about going at it differently.

"We can't just walk in there. They all think we're dead, we could put them in shock and get us all rejected from the pack. Plus, someone might recognize Lucas." I said quietly, at first Sam glared at me but it only lasted a second.

"And some of your pack doesn't exactly like me right now.." Heriott mumbled, looking down at the dirt and playing with her thumbs so she wouldn't make eye contact with anyone.

"Why is that?" Sam asked, giving her a funny look after glancing at me.

"Well... you seee I wasn't born in the royal family obviously, I married into it but-" She barely got out the word "but" before Luke jumped up at attention, shifting into his wolf almost immediately.

Did you hear that? I heard his voice in my head. No, what is it? I was listening to Heriott. I thought back. It would be nice to be able to mind link, but since I was never officially inducted into a single pack, and rouges don't count themselves as a pack, the only person I could mind link with was Lucas, and that was at his own will.

I don't know. Suddenly I heard rustling and the thudding of paws against the ground. What happened next, caught me off gurard.

A large, young, gold wolf jumped out of the bushes followed by a much smaller, almost the size of medium sized dog, bright red wolf with dark blue eyes. Seconds later, two more wolves jumped out, both of them were a blondish color, one with green eyes and the other with brown ones. Everyone of us froze, with the exception of Sam, who was grinning from ear to ear.

I knew who one of these wolves were, but not the other three, unlike Sam who obviously knew them all.

The golden one was Logan, that was for sure, which meant the red one was Aubrey.

Suddenly I realized that Aubrey was shifted, which meant Logan and her had completed the mating process.

Well damn that was fast.

They all shifted into humans and stood there awkwardly, non of us but Sam really making eye contact.

Suddenly Sam broke out laughing, "Welcome to the family, Logan." He got out once he stopped after a few seconds. He composed himself again and looked at the other two, with a warm smile. "Hey Mom, Dad. Cassie, this is my adopted mother, Darcy, and my adopted father, Parker. This is my ... biological mother. And that's Lucas, he's a friend." Sam finally got out. I could tell he was having a rough time accepting Heriott after everything that had happened, especially with him only knowing her a few days now.

The tention between Darcy, Parker, Sam and Heriott was obvious. You could be a mile away and still pick up on it.

"That's ... great honey. But what are you doing here? We thought you were at the Royal's?"  Darcy said, she looked worried.

"I'll explain later. We need to get home now though." Sam said making a worried face.

"We can't." Logan finally said something.

"And why not?" Lucas asked in a rather rude way.

"The rouges took it over."
