Hey guys!

So fair warning, this story is starting to get towards the end of it's .. life I guess? It's about to be over I guess is what I'm saying. I'm gonna try and get away from other POV's and just have Cassie for awhile I guess, so the ending is more of a surprise.

Alright, no spoilers!

I woke up to the darkness of our small cave appartment, pressed closely to Sam. I glanced over at the clock on the wall and saw it was roughly ten in the morning. I pulled myself out of bed and clicked the light on the nightstand on, careful not to wake Sam. After getting dressed and ready, I headed out to the dinning hall for breakfast.

The Cave was such a big place with many tunnels and corridors that I had gotten lost a few times in the past, although I was getting better. I knew my way to the main places like the dinning hall, the main room, Sam and my offices, and the laundry room.

"Cassie!" I heard someone hiss at me from behind. I wuickly turned to see Aubrey running up to me and pulling me to the side, "Cassie what are you doing! You aren't mated with Sam yet!"

"Um, no I'm not."

"And why not? If you wait any longer, you wont be ready for the attack!" Aubrey squeaked at me. "And if you're seen out, without Sam, then people will start talking. They'll think you two aren't good leaders if you can't even get mated! Now go get mated to Sam!"

"But I wanted to get breakfast!" I whinned.

"There's ceral in your room. Make do." Aubrey said and shoved me off in the direction of our room.

I huffed and stumbled forward slightly. I looked over my shoulder and glared at her then sulked as I slowly drug my feet back to Sam and my room.

"Cas? That you?" I heard Sam ask huskily as I pushed the door closed behind me and looked up to see him sitting up in bed rubbing his eyes with his messy hair sticking in every dirrection. He was shirtless as well, and he looked plain hot.

"Yeah it's me babe." I said, kicking off my shoes as I walked over to the side of the bed and kissed his cheek, only for him to pull me into bed on top of him, laying on his chest.

He kissed around my face and I giggled slightly because it was obvious he was still asleep.

"Sam.. " I whined slightly, although it wasn't like I wasn't enjoying this.

"Hmm?" he asked huskily.

"Tomorrow's the attack... that means today-" he cut me off.

"I know baby, we don't have to if you don't want to. I'm sure we'll be fine no matter what.." I could hear the doubt in his voice. No, we had to do this. I just wish everything was different.

"No, we need to. I'm okay, I promise."

Sam kissed me. It was long and soft but hungry and heated, and it quickly ended with both of us down to our underwear, and then even less.

"Are you sure Cassie?" Sam asked one last time.

"I'm sure."

Then it was done, I wasn't a virgin, and we were officially mated.

After a few hours of that we slept until six in the afternoon.

I was going to just stay in and make us some sandwhiches or something, but no, Sam wanted to go out and eat with the pack.

"They need to know we aren't weak. Plus it'll be nice to get out for a little while." He said as he stood up, pulling on a pair of boxers.

"But I'm tired and sore." I whined back, pulling the sheets closer to me and getting comfortable.

"Cassie, come on. We need to go eat with the pack." Sam said, pretty much fully dressed by now.

I groaned but swung my feet around to the side of the bed and slowly got up.

"I'm so sore..." I whimpered as I pulled on my clothes.

"You know you can shift now." Sam said, coming over to me and tucking a strand of hair behind my ear before pecking me on the lips.

"Exactly so we should stay home to make sure I don't have my first shift in public!" I said  excitidly, I was pretty excited to have my first shift, but not so much if I was going to have to shift in the middle of dinning hall, and I was definitely shifting tonight.

"Fine Cassie, but I'm going to go get us some food and I'll be right back." Sam said as he walked out the door. I smiled, happy that I wasn't going to have to go out anymore. They would all smell me on Sam and know the mating was done, and I could just lay around all afternoon until my first shift, then Sam would probably make me go outside and get used to everyhting, but I would worry about that then.
