Shizi slowly pulled into consciousness and cuddled closer to her pillow. Wait, her pillow?! She shot up and looked around in confusion and surprise. How in the name of the Hokage did she get to her bed?! The last thing she remembers is falling asleep on the couch balled up against Kakashi's leg.
"Good. You're awake. Breakfast is done." Shizi looked over at the silver man in a dazed blank. "And if you're wondering, no you did not magically teleport to your bed in your sleep. I carried you there. Nice drawings by the way, those are new."
"Thanks, Kika. What's for breakfast?" He flashed his famous closed-eyed smile.
"Soup and bread." She nodded and pulled back into a cat-like stretch, popping her spine as she did. She sat at the table and ate in comfortable silence with Kakashi until both needed to go to training and turn in forms for the Chunin Exams.
"Bye Kika, see you soon." The said Jonin waved as she shut the front door and hopped roofs to the training grounds. She was the first to arrive and so she spent her time trying out a new thing her and Jingxiao agreed upon.
The idea was to minimize the appearance of her transformation, allowing Shizi to use the metal weapon during the Exams without risking the head Shinobi noticing. The clawed hands were to become simply long fingernails, her eyes stayed the same, her teeth would be normal but her canines would become sharp and long, and she still had the tail. Her voice would be normal as well unless she was angry.
"Let's hope nobody takes you, right Jingxiao? That's what happened last time, in the Land of Waves?"
"Yes. And if it does happen, immediately reverse your summon on me and it'll return to its seal where it belongs. But if it gets out I'll have to do what I did in the Land of Waves again, which isn't ideal for the Exams."
Shizi nodded and leapt up onto the roof of her apartment building, lost in her own little world. She was so far in her thoughts she wasn't aware of Naruto shouting her name until he was inches from her face.
"Hey, Shizi what are you doing? You're going the wrong way-" He was cut off because Shizi happened to look up and she didn't stop quick enough. They walked right into each other and both eyes widened in shock as their lips melded together.
Both shot backwards, shocked beyond words. Jingxiao was laughing loudly in Shizi's head and something inside Naruto was whispering to do it again. To the Uzumaki, it felt like a powerful force was almost literally tugging him to the brunette in its craving for more and more until nothing remained of the girl.
"I-ah.... umm... I gotta go turn the form in... so ummm.... see you around..." Stuttered the brunette and she disappeared in a flash of leaves. She arrived at the main station to turn in Chunin Exam forms in a panting, sweating mess.
She handed the consent form to the Shinobi that was gathering the papers and he told her to be at the Exam building tomorrow morning on the third floor. She quickly nodded and once again disappeared in the whirlwind of leaves.
"Shizi-chan, where are you going?" Shizi told Jingxiao that he was going to find Shikamaru and tell him what had happened between her and Naruto.
"Do you think it's the best idea to tell people you kissed Naruto Uzumaki? Won't that make them think certain things about the two of you?" Shizi explained that she always told Shikamaru everything, no matter how embarrassing it could be.
She found the said boy on the training arena close to her home. Shizi decided to play around and so she made a Shadow Clone and it ran out to Shikamaru happily.
"Oh, hey Shizi. How have you been?" The Clone didn't speak, just summoned its clone Jingxiao. The fake wasn't as strong as the real deal, but it still made her go through the transformation.
"Hello Shika-chan." The boy looked beyond confused and scared. He's never seen this side of Shizi before. A toothy smile cracked her face in half and she laughed maniacally as she attacked.
Shizi madly swung Jingxiao at the head of Shikamaru, who evaded the swipe and used his Shadow Possession Jutsu to hold the girl in place. The Shadow Clone poofs into white smoke and left the Nara boy in the middle of the arena in utter confusion.
"Shizi? Where are you hiding?" Shizi appeared from the shadows with a wide, self-satisfied smile curling her lips like a wildcat inches from pouncing on its prey.
"You called Shika-chan?" He glared down at the small framed girl.
"What the hell was that, Shizi? You nearly killed me with that crazed, odd-looking clone, ya know!" Shizi smiled at the angry boy, melting his anger into his usual boredom. "Why can't I stay angry with you? It's such a drag."
"Because you know you love me and I'm too cute to be angry with." The Nara boy smirked and shook his head.
"I bet Naruto thinks you're cute too, Shizi-chan, don't you." Shizi chose to ignore the snarky comment of Jingxiao and smiled up at Shikamaru.
"Why are you here again, Shizi?" Once remembering the reason she came to see Shikamaru in the first place, her face flushed crimson.
"Umm... Naruto and I.... might've... accidentally... kissed..."
"How in the hell did you manage that one, Shizi?" She poked her index fingers together in embarrassment.
"I was heading to hand in my Chunin Exam papers and he walked in front of me and... you know the rest of that..." Shikamaru doubled over laughing and Shizi flushed a deeper crimson.
"It isn't funny, Shika-chan! This is serious you know!" He attempted to stop but couldn't and just started cracking up again at her awkward predicament with one of her closest friends. Shizi plopped onto the training dust in defeat.
"What am I going to do? This is so awkward! And your absolutely no help whatsoever, Shika-chan!" The boy sat on the ground and finally stopped laughing before slinging his arm over her thin shoulders.
"Look this can go one of two ways: either everything you've ever known about your life with Naruto will crash and burn to ashes on the ground-"
"So very uplifting. Thanks I feel so much better now." She comments sarcastically.
"You didn't let me finish. Or it can go perfectly fine and you'll live through whatever else happens. Just pray it'll be the second chance or you might want to move right out of Konoha." Shizi blew out a deep sigh and drops her head onto her knees.
"Well, Shizi-chan, do you like Naruto in that sense?" Shizi looked off into the distance, contemplating Jingxiao's question.
