The remaining Genin left after the Forest of Death all stood in lines according to their teams they belonged to- thus leaving Shizi standing off beside Team Kakashi as they argued about dropping out of the Exams. They decided to stay and the Hokage announced that due to too many remainders of the Exams, Preliminary rounds would begin immediately, the screen on the wall picking random names from the crowd below. First up: Naruto Uzumaki vs. Kiba Inuzuka.
Shizi and the others were sent to stand on a strip of walkway above the two as they wait until it was their own battles. The neko sat with her legs dangling over the edge, staring off into space as she contemplated the different scenarios and battle plans.
"Since everyone will be far above you, they couldn't see your changes when you use me, Shizi-chan. It would be good for me to let out some steam." Shizi agreed and added in Jingxiao as her weapon, adjusting her plans accordingly. Fight after fight after fight commenced and ended, none being her battle. She was starting to think they forgot about her until her name flashed on the board.
Yemao, Shizi vs. Okami, Yasei
Yasei jumped down from the rafters, landing the huge leap with graceful ease. Her stark white hair was lighter than Kakashi's and cropped short with two longer pieces that were bound by metal bands of a navy blue metal and gold. A headset that matched her hairbands in color sat on her head, the metal molded to look like a dog head. A navy mask covered her nose and mouth that extended down as her shirt, cropped to end just over her mid-rif with strips of a golden colored fabric. Her shorts were plain navy and stopped mid-thigh like Shizi's does. The most eye-catching characteristic about this Yasei girl is the snowy white dog ears standing alerted and on point. If Kiba was here he'd be howling and drooling.
Not wanting to be outdone, Shizi too leapt from the railing and onto the battle floor, cat ears lowered threateningly and stormy eyes met Yasei's brackish grey-brown ones in automatic distaste. Cats and dogs never did get along, especially these two. Yasei and Shizi were told to choose their weapons and the white headed girl unsheathed the huge weaponry on her back, which was a black metal reaper with blood red lines running along the blade seam in the middle. Large black rings pierced through the melding of the staff and the base of the blade, similarly designed rings through the base of the staff as well. Yasei stood in a typical standing pose with her reaper held behind her body, black blade just brushing the ground.
Shizi summoned Jingxiao and mildly groaned at the transformations before shaking out and smiling darkly, her scariest side was always brought forth when she used the reaper. Yasei was momentarily taken aback at the girl, as well as the Proctors and even the Hokage himself. The only things people know of Jingxiao is that he was made so strong nobody could wield it without succumbing to their own evil whims and dying because of it. Until Kandahar, that is. He held the darkness a bay and even discovered that the weaponry had developed its own consciousness to cope with the disappointment he held within his old masters.
They circle each other, growling and hissing and baring teeth like mortal enemies. They attack simultaneously, metal staff against metal staff, the noise ringing around the cavernous room they fought inside of. The scraping noise made both pin down their ears to muffle the sound and ease the pain. They pull away and clash again, each testing the strengths and searching for the weaknesses of the other.
"So this is the amazing strength of Jingxiao, the Death Reaper itself. How wasted in the hands of such a useless feline brat." Spat out the white haired dog with venom and hate. Shizi hissed at the girl and slashed angrily at her opponent, the blade just barely missing her right cheek, scratching Yasei's cheek and drawing maroon blood down her skin and mask. Shizi smirked with evil glee and jumped back to crouch close to the ground in her usual battle stance.
