Shizi awoke early and took a quick bath and dressed before walking into the kitchen for breakfast. Kakashi was already up and cooking like always. He gave the thin brunette a closed-eyed smile and handed her a plate of food before gently massaging her cat ear.
"Good luck today out there, Shizi." She smiled at the silver headed Jonin and quickly ate her food before saying a hasty goodbye and grabbing her weapons pouch on her way out the door. She sprinted to the assigned Chunin Exams building and decided she'd wait for her friends.
"Are you ready to face Naruto, Shizi?" She took a deep breath to calm her jumping nerves that has become her usual reaction to the boy's name now. She'd have to face him sooner or later. The first person she saw was Sasuke, who respectfully nodded and stood in silence. Next was Sakura, and lastly was the boy Shizi was dreading to see: Naruto Uzumaki.
The blonde caught her eye and both deeply blushed then looked in opposite directions. The other two gave them odd looks then shared one between themselves. All four walked inside and Shizi silently followed the three to the assigned room.
As soon as they walked in Ino was hanging on Sasuke like a piece of clothing. Her foot kicked out and knocked Shizi off her feet and into the blonde Uzumaki behind her. His instincts kicked in when he caught the flash of someone falling and so he caught her like a husband would carry his newlywed wife.
"You alright?" Shizi nodded and blushed deeply at the awkward position they were in. He realized how he was cradling the brunette and blushed as well whilst setting her back on her feet.
"Thank you, Naruto." She muttered and forced herself to keep from blushing even deeper while a tall, white headed boy with large, round glasses walked up to them. Instinct made Shizi hide behind the newly released Uchiha, ears drooped down in slight fear. He glanced over his shoulder at her in confusion as to why she's taking refuge behind him.
"He smells wrong, like a mix of chemicals and death. It gives me chills." She subconsciously shuddered and hid behind the ravenette again. The boy introduced himself as Kabuto and procured a blank Chakra card.
"I want to know about Gaara of the Desert, Rock Lee... and someone else." He leaned in and whispered to the boy, who smirked and drew out three blank cards, added a small bit of his Chakra, and placed two of them on the ground.
"This is Gaara of the Desert and Rock Lee. And here's this one." He handed Sasuke the card that he had whispered to Kabuto about. Shizi glanced over his shoulder and was surprised to see the card was about herself.
It was rather barren: her name, her team, the amount of missions she was on and the rankings they were, the rest of it was blank. Why would Sasuke want information on his own teammate?
They spoke about the other two while Shizi's sharp senses caught the rather quiet footsteps of a Sound Shinobi stalking towards them. Her instinct took over once again and her hands gently gripped the back of the Uchiha's deep blue shirt.
"Sasuke..." The said boy looked over his shoulder at her again, a curious but annoyed gleam in his onyx eye she could see. A brow lifted in a silent question and she tilted her head towards the now imminent Shinobi. The scary looking Genin attacked Kabuto but missed. Something told Shizi he meant to miss. Her suspicion was confirmed when the white headed teen's glasses cracked and he threw up on the floor.
"There will be no fighting without the sanctity of the proctors. I am Ibiki, I will be your first exam proctor and we begin now. Take a number and find your seat." Shizi took her number and found her spot, close to the very center of the room. Ibiki went on to explain how the system for this exam worked: get caught cheating five times and you're kicked out- along with everyone else on your team.
