"Shizi, wake up!" The said neko jolts up from her bed at the loud voice of Kakashi down the hall. She rubs her eyes sleepily and stumbles from her sheets.
"What's wrong, Kika?" Her grey eyes got wide when she saw the village elders in the living room. "Kika?" Shizi went straight to the silver headed man's side and wrapped her arms around his own.
"Shizi Yemao, we need you to come with us." Her ears drooped in anxiety.
"Why?" She glances up at Kakashi, who kept his eyes on the floor and avoiding hers. "Kika, what's going on? Why am I leaving?"
"They're... They're taking you from me, Shizi." The brunette girl was shocked at his words, they're taking her away?
"Why? What did I do wrong?" Kakashi knelt down in front of the thin girl and gently cupped her cheeks.
"You've done nothing wrong, Shizi. They just don't think we're good for each other anymore." Shizi knitted her eyebrows in confusion.
"I-I-I don't understand. Not good anymore?" Kakashi sighed and rested his forehead against hers gently. "But I want to stay with you."
"I know, but we don't have a choice. And I'll still be your Sensei."
"Actually, you won't be." Spoke the old woman as they watched the exchange before them.
"What?" Kakashi demands while turning to look at the elders.
"Shizi will be... trained separately now." Kakashi subconsciously pulls Shizi closer to him for protection.
"Trained how?"
"That's not impertinent right now, come with us Shizi. Your things will be gathered later." The girl didn't move to follow, simply gripped Kakashi by his flak vest and dropped her ears to show she was scared.
"I don't want to go. I want to stay with Kika."
"This isn't up for negotiations, child. Now come along." Shizi refused to leave Kakashi's side, and that's when they called on a few of the ANBU Black Ops members.
"I won't leave Kika, and you can't make me." The ANBU men strike, clawed gloves reaching for her with their smiling masks glowing like monsters in the things of nightmares. Their fingers grasped at air as she evaded them by mere centimeters. Shizi reappeared a few feet back from the group.
"Why can't I stay with him? What went wrong?" The ANBU men lashed out again, this time using speed Jutsus to try and reach her quicker. They were unexpectedly knocked back by her Chakra Puppets, the two of them huge wolves. They used their own kinds of Jutsu to combat with hers. The ANBU men were overwhelmed by her raw power and precision. One wolf pinned an ANBU man while the other knocked it's enemy onto the couch, unconscious instantly. Her wolves shrunk down to tiny little puppies as she glared at the elders.
"I will not leave him."
"We aren't giving you a choice."
"I'm making it my choice. You will not make me leave my family, I won't let you."
"Do you know the truth of the Hebi Clan? Of what Kakashi really did in that mansion?"
"He saved me. I would've died in that attic if he didn't come for me."
"He slaughtered the entire clan for you." Her grey eyes moved over to the silvery man.
"Y-you did what?"
"That's right, butchered them all. For you. A little Kunoichi who truly never belonged here." Sneered the old man. Kakashi glares at the elder as he spoke.
"You think I don't know that you people think I don't belong here? The moment I got here, I've been treated like the plague. I've been refused simple treatments by hospitals, hit by merchants here in town, I can't even walk the streets without getting a dirty look or someone shielding their child from me because they think I'm a contagious disease. I'm only allowed to stay here because of the monster I keep inside me, the Hell's Wildcat, that's why you want me to leave Kakashi. You don't want to train me, you want to experiment on me, turn me into some mutated weaponized monstrosity. But I won't let you, I will stay here and you will leave us alone." Her Chakra puppies grew back into their massive wolves, growling and snapping their blue fangs loudly. The elders shared a look and vanished, reserved to watching and waiting for their perfect moment to snatch the girl from his grasp and see what makes her tick, how she got to be this way, it eluded them as to how Kandahar managed to force the great Hell's Wildcat into a girl like her.
Once they were gone, Shizi released her Chakra wolves and stared at the spot the elders were seconds ago. Her stormy eyes moved over to Kakashi, growing watery as the events sunk into her head. They were going to take her away.
"Dad?" Her legs gave out and she dropped to her knees, arms curled around her stomach as she rocked back and forth. Kakashi was instantly there, arms around her shoulders protectively.
"I'm so sorry, Shizi." Whispers the ex ANBU member as he lets her cry into his chest. She almost lost everything she knew, and he almost lost everything he loved.
"I don't want to leave."
"You don't have to anymore."
"They were going to hurt me, weren't they?" At her question, Kakashi held her closer to himself. He should've seen that coming, that one day someone would try to see how it all fit together, her and the Hell's Wildcat she calls Gomon. He almost gave up his daughter because he was given an order to.
"They were, but you saved yourself. And I'm very proud of you for it."
"But I disobeyed an order from the elders, won't I get in big trouble for that?"
"Maybe, but we'll face it together. I'm sorry I almost let you go." Shizi cuddled closer to her guardian, gently purring in her chest as she soaked up his warmth.
"I'm sorry they tried to make you. I'd miss you too much." Kakashi lightly laughs at her comment and pulls back to see her smiling face, one he's come to love dearly.
"Let's go out, you and me. Does Ichiraku's sound good?" Shizi nodded and they set out for the rather famous shop. They ate their fill and laughed with the owner and Naruto whom showed up for his own dinner at the place. The blonde said his good night's and left for his home, blushing deeply when he came to telling Shizi goodnight. Kakashi stood and dropped the needed amount of money into the owner's hands before turning to Shizi.
"Ready to go home?" She glances over at the elderly man, remembering when she first got here that he had told her to call Kakashi dad for laughs. She smiled and looked up at her silvery Jonin.
"Yeah, let's go home dad."
