"Wow, Cas, what the hell is that?"

My eyebrows furrowed as my eyes rose to meet Calum's, who had his gaze fixated on my neck.

I pulled out my phone, opening the camera, and seeing what looked like a purple bruise marked near my jawbone. "Holy shit I forgot about that."

Michael stifled a laugh next to me, and I reached over to slap his shoulder.

"Have fun last night?," he smirked.

"I could fucking hear them clearly and I was all the way downstairs," Luke rolled his eyes, pretending to gag.

"Oh, shut up," I defended, "we weren't that loud."

Michael shook his head. "Nah, babe, we were. Luke is practically deaf half the time so if he heard us, we were loud."

Luke's disgusted look turned into a frown, and he glared at Michael. "Fuck off."

As soon as the words left Luke's mouth, the familiar ring of an iphone started, all four of us reaching into our pockets.

"It's mine," Michael said, clicking the green button and standing up, "I'll be right back."

Michael's pov:

"What do you want?," I spat into the phone.

"Your time is up, Michael, what's your decision? I'm not waiting forever."

Ashton's voice was flat, with no emotion. It was his manipulative state. He knew how to get what he wanted.

"Ashton, I- why are you making me do this?"

"You know why. Now tell me."

"I don't think I can do it. She means too much to me."

He sighed deeply, obviously annoyed. "I really didn't think you would make me do this the hard way. You know it's your fault this happened."

"You didn't have to edge it on, though! Please don't tell her, Ashton."

"Oh, I'm not gonna be the one telling her. Meet me at my house tonight at 6. I want to talk in person."

I paced back and forth in the bathroom. "Okay, okay. You're not bringing her right?"

"Why would I? That would only make things worse for you, god forbid that happens. See you tonight."

I hung up the phone, tugging at the roots of my hair. Cassie was never going to forgive me. Oh god, she would probably leave me.

Glancing at myself in the mirror, I made sure that everything looked normal before exiting, making my way to Cassie and sitting next to her.

Calum and Luke were engaged in conversation, so she turned to me. "Everything okay?"

My smile had never been faker. "Yeah, it's all good. And, uh," I leaned in closer to her ear, so the boys wouldn't hear, "I have to meet up with those guys I told you about at 6 tonight."

She nodded, smiling. "Alright, no biggie. Are you sure you're okay? You look extremely off edge."

"Of course, Cas. I wouldn't lie to you."

Cassie's pov:

Something didn't feel right.

It's not that anything was necessarily wrong, but it just wasn't 100% right.

Michael had already left, and been gone for more than a couple hours. I wasn't worried, though, since he usually came back around 9.

He looked incredibly uncomfortable when he sprinted out the door, avoiding all eye contact. Maybe he was nervous about something?
