His arms were tight around my body, swaying us back and forth. "I'm so glad you came back. I forgive everything you did to me."
I had nowhere else to go. My parents were in another state, and for obvious reasons I couldn't stay with Margo, so my only choice was Evan.
It was terribly wrong, yet right as well. My (small) feelings for him were still evident, and so were his. Yet his feelings were more obsessive.
"Listen, Evan, you can't tell Michael, Luke, Calum, or Margo where I am. At all. Can you promise me that?"
He nodded. "I'm just happy you finally came back. Even though Michael was your Soulmate, I still thought it was a mistake."
It seemed as if some of his sanity left when I did too. I couldn't deny that Michael was the best thing to ever happen to me.
"I guess . . I'm gonna put my stuff away."
Pulling myself away, I walked down the familiar hallway and into Evan's bedroom, beginning to put what small pile I had into the drawers until the suitcase became empty.
Evan leaned against the door, watching me. "It's 1 am. You must be exhausted."
"You have no fucking clue. I just want to sleep. Can we do that?"
"Duh. Come on."
He shut the door, climbing onto the bed and under the sheets, holding them up for me to climb under.
Once it was comfortable, I couldn't stop thinking about Michael. It felt like his arms were around my waist, and his chin on my head. This was torture.
"So," he whispered, "are you gonna be okay?"
"It hurts but I'll pretend that it's okay," I said, "and I'll pretend that it's okay so that at least if I can fool the world all that'll be left to do is fool myself."
-Michael's pov:
"Holy shit, you really fucked up."
"I know! Oh my god. Ohhh my god."
"Well . . we have to find her, right?"
I scoffed. "There's no doubt she's at Evan's house. She has nowhere else to go."
Calum nodded. "What do you think Luke will say?"
"He'll be so angry, but it's Luke. He would forgive a murderer."
"You're right. Should we head over to Evan's?"
Nodding, Calum picked up his keys and we headed out, getting into the car and driving over.
We only had to wait on the porch for 10 seconds before Evan opened it, standing at the door casually. "Uh, hi?"
"We know that Cassie's here. Can I talk to her?," I asked.
"She's actually not here . . why? Is she missing?"
Calum scratched the back of his neck. "Sort of. Can you keep a lookout for her?"
"Sure thing. See ya later."
He closed the door, as we turned around to the car. "Well," I said, "that was a waste of time."
"We don't know whether he's lying or not. Even if she's not there, we know she couldn't have gotten far. No car."
