"Cassie, you need to eat something."

"Luke, I told you, I'm not hungry."

"You've been in bed since you got here, 2 weeks ago. You haven't even come downstairs yet. Please, Cas. It's 4 pm."

Groaning, I flipped over in bed so I was facing Luke at the doorway. "Fine. Just let me shower."

He nodded, shutting the door as he walked out.

I guess you could say that I haven't been so great since the breakup. I could barely get out of bed, let alone eat or drink anything. It was exhausting to just blink.

I'd probably lost like, maybe 4 or 5 pounds. Not surprising, though.

Climbing out of bed, it felt weird to be on two feet after 4 days of not feeling flooring. Trudging over to the bathroom, I shut the door and started the shower, climbing in when it felt right. Metaphorically, and maybe, literally, I washed all the dirtiness off.

After that, I threw on a white t shirt and cotton plaid shorts before making my way downstairs, slowly as not to fall.

"Hey, the vampire finally comes out of it's room," Calum smirked when I walked passed him.

"Oh, fuck off."

Guessing Luke was in the kitchen, I walked through the door, finding Michael and him leaning against the counter, talking intensely.

It was a dead giveaway that it was about me because they froze when I came in.

I rose an eyebrow. "Anything you wanna say?"

They shook their heads in unison. "Nope," Luke started, "you hungry?"

"No."

"Cassie."

"Luke, drop it. I'll eat when I'm ready. You're not my parent."

"You haven't eaten in like, 6 years!"

"I ate a bagel yesterday."

He frowned. "Still."

Sighing, I turned around, touching the door before Michael called. "Wait, Cassie."

Annoyed, I walked back in, arms crossed. "What?"

"Look, he's just trying to look after you. Just eat for us, please?"

I wasn't a child, but I felt like one, basically throwing a temper tantrum over having to eat. "Fine." I walked over to the fridge, took an apple out of the drawer, and bit into it before swallowing the sour taste.

"Happy?"

"I will be if you finish it."

"You do know that could take at least half an hour right?"

"I have time."

"I don't," Luke chimed in. He pat Michael's back. "Have fun watching her eat an apple, mate." Then he walked out.

I frowned. "Stop staring at me, Michael."

"I told you, I'm staying here until you eat it all."

"This is ridiculous. It's a goddamn apple. Like 10 calories."

"What's ridiculous is you not being able to eat over a boy."

I was halfway through with the apple now, regretfully swallowing after each bite.

"It's definitely not because of him. I just feel exhausted, you know? Like, all those years are finally coming back and biting me in the ass. It's crazy."
