Saturday, no school. I sat on my bed going through my phone. Suddenly, my phone rang, "hello?"

"Hey Mel"

"Ryan?"

"Yeah it's me"

"Will you tell me how you got my number?"

"I told you yesterday, I have my ways"

"Idiot" I muttered to myself but I knew he heard.

"What was that?"

"Nothing, anyways, why are you calling me?"

"I don't know, i was bored"

"You have a ton of friends, why call me?" It was true.

"You ask a lot of questions"

"I don't care, answer me"

"Because I wanted to call you"

"Great reason Ryan"

"Yeah thanks" I could even hear him smirk.

"Could I ask another question?"

He sighed, "sure, go ahead"

"Why a sudden interest in me? I mean we've been in the same school for ages, why do you seem to have interest in me now?"

"Wait, you're not new to the school?" Seriously? He never really knew I existed?

"Oh my god......you've never seen me have you?"

"Uhhhh"

"You jerk. I think you're secretly blind"

He chuckled, "Nah, just never knew you existed"

"That's what I thought"

"So, you free today?"

"Why?"

"Just answer me"

"Depends, why?"

"Oh my god, so I could take you out"

"We just met, I've known you for only two days!"

"So? It'll be fun"

"Where are you going to take me?"

"Where would you like to go?"

"I don't know, you're planning it, you decide"

"Okay, how about we.....we can go for dinner?"

"Dinner? That's it?"

"Tell me what you like"

"Soccer, skateboarding-"

"Skateboaring? You can skate?"

"Yeah, I sure can"

"Damn, how about we go skateboarding?"

"Sure, why not?"

"Then we can go for dinner"

"Straight away? What about what we're going to wear. I can't wear a dress for skateboarding if we're going for dinner too"

"Then we'll just go skateboaring"

"We can come back to my place for dinner"

"Alright yeah, that'll be good"

"Okay great"

"Done?"

"Yep"

"Be ready 5, I'll pick you up"

"How do you know where I live?!"

"The bus ride Mel"

"Oh right, whatever, bye" I quickly hung up in embarrassment. I checked the time to see it was 2pm. I had three hours, just make the most of it. I got up off the bed and went to the living room.

*********
I prepared my skateboard on the edge of the rink, "You sure you can skate Mel?" Ryan asked as I was about to start. If I couldn't skate then why would I come?

"No Ryan, I came here for no reason" I said and he rolled his eyes, "just watch"

I went off, rolling up and down the skateboard. Doing a few tricks before stopping, "there"

"Woah man, what can't you do?" He asked as he looked stunned by what I just did.

"Your turn" he came over to the rink then started off. We skateboarded for a while when we finally decided to go to my place for dinner.

*******

I was about to unlock my door when I saw a note on the welcome mat, it read,

Hey Honey, your dad won't be back till tomorrow because he has some work stuff and I've got a night shift. I've made dinner for you, it's in the kitchen. If something happens just call me or dad.

Love, mum.

"Looks like we're by ourselves"

"Yeah"

"Don't you have any siblings?"

"Nah, only child"

"Ah okay" i unlocked the door and went inside, Ryan following behind.

"Make yourself at home" he went over to the couch and sprawled on it, "I'll bring the dinner"

So, bad ending, but next chapter, will probably be better.
