Chapter F O U R T Y T W O

I stood outside school waiting for Marilyn. She told me she wanted to go out for lunch afterschool so I said okay. I don't really know why she wants to go out for lunch all of a sudden. Marilyn isn't the type to usually go out.

I noticed her in the distance, "hey, sorry I took long" she apologized as she came towards me.

"It's okay, let's just go" I replied and she nodded. We got in her cat and she started it.

***(at lunch)***

I noticed Marilyn eating her food and stating at it. Something was going on, "Marilyn?" I called her. She didn't seem to realize that I called her, so I said her name again, this time louder, "Marilyn!" She jumped then saw me.

"Oh sorry, I was just...........sorry" she shook her head.

"What's wrong?" I asked as I reached over and touched her arm.

"Nothing" she shook her head, "nothing is wrong, I'm just thinking about school homework"

"Sure doesn't seem like it. Are you sure you're alright?"

"Yes, Melissa. I'm fine" she said not looking at me. She as fiddling with her fingers nervously. Oh wait up! I know what's wrong! I can't believe she's not telling me!

"No way! Marilyn, who is it?"

"What? I don't know what you're talking about"

"Yes you do! And you're not telling me! Who's the boy?"

"There is no boy"

"Yes there is! Come on, Marilyn. I'm your bestfriend."

"Do I have to?"

"Yes, spill it" I said waiting anxiously.

"It's David," David?! Wait, maybe she's talking about another David.

"David? David who?"

"Our bestfriend, David. I'm talking about him" she said and my eyes widened. Oh my god! No freaking way!

"Are you serious?" I squealed so loudly that people started staring.

"Yes, Melissa. He.....he uhm" she started to blush as she put a strand of hair behind her ear.

"He what?!" I asked impatiently.

"He kissed me"

"He did what?!"

"He kissed me! Melissa are you deaf?" She asked.

"No, I'm just shocked. He kissed you? When was this?"

"Last night. He was at my house. I called him over so we could watch movies because you were with Bryan and we couldn't invite you. We were on my bed just lying there, watching TV, and then he all of a sudden grabs my face and kisses me"

"Wait, he just randomly did it while you were watching movies?"

"Well, he said a joke that made me laugh a lot. Then I looked at him to see him smiling then he did it"

I whistled lowly, "you guys would make the best couple ever!"

"Shut up!"

"He is so going to ask you out!"

"How do you know if he really likes me? What if he was just messing around and kissed me?"

"What happened after you guys kissed?"

"He said he had to leave, so we said our goodbyes and he left"

"He so likes you!"

"You don't know that"

"I'm serious, if he doesn't ask you out, I'm gonna make him ask you out" She was blushing furiously right now, "stop blushing, you look like a tomato" I told her and she covered her face with her face and I laughed at her.
