Every five minutes Suna looked up from his phone and saw Atsumu pacing. And every time he looked it seemed like the pacing got faster.
Meanwhile, the Miya twin's parents sat in the corner, looking nervous as they tried to talk to each other.
Suna had never had to sit in a waiting room like this before. Sure, he would go visit Osamu in the hospital or sit with him during his chemo, but this was different. Up until now he had never actually been nervous.
Technically only three people are allowed in this waiting room, but Osamu had been so insistent that Suna be here too that an exception was made. But outside, in the hospital lobby, the rest of the Inarazaki team was waiting too. Even the recent graduates. And any time an update was made, they would get updated from Suna.
He looked down at his phone again and saw a message from Kita. After every update, the former captain would reply with some kind of encouraging meme. Taught to him, of course, by Suna.
It surprised Suna when Atsumu sat down next to him and breathed a heavy sigh.
"I thought you would never stop."
Atsumu frowned at him. "I told him I was sure he would be fine. But I can't stop worrying."
"I'm pretty sure that's normal," Suna said, looking sympathetically at his friend. "But I am very sure that it will be fine. Osamu is too stubborn for any other outcome."
At that, Atsumu laughed. "That is true."
It was only a few minutes later that Osamu's surgeon walked into the waiting room.

As soon as Osamu woke up he saw Atsumu grinning at him.
The blonde looked like he was on the verge of tears as he said, "I told you that you couldn't get away from me that easily."
Osamu's throat hurt from the intubation, yet he couldn't help but laugh. Besides, for the first time in ages, his throat was the thing that bothered him the most. Sure, he was sore from the surgery. But it was nothing like before.
He smiled and motioned for Atsumu to come give him a hug.
Atsumu did what he brother clearly wanted and laughed. "Feeling a little emotional, are ya?"
"Oh shut up," Osamu grumbled.
Atsumu pulled away and raised a brow at him. "You've just had a major surgery and you're already back to being a grouch."
"I've had a rough year, I think I'm allowed to be grouchy."
"Touché." Atsumu sat down in the chair next to his brother. "Mom and dad were in here for awhile, but you've kinda been in and out of it. Also, apparently anesthesia makes you cry a lot- I swear I won't tell a soul- and Suna is waiting for you outside."
"Okay A: that is a lot of information. B: Don't even mention it to me. And C: please tell him to get his ass in here."
The twins smiled at each other, and Atsumu shook his head. "You better appreciate my slave labors for you."
Osamu rolled his eyes- but maintained his smile- and motioned to the door. Atsumu ruffled his hair and stood up, but before he could even get to the door Suna came in.
"Yeah. I was listening to everything." Osamu's boyfriend gave him a gentle hug, kissed his cheek, and then pulled away. "You're done scaring all of us to death now, right?"
Osamu titled his head. "Hmm... We'll see."

Three days later, Atsumu burst into his brother's hospital room and grinned, a wheelchair in front of him.
"Are ya ready to finally go home?"
Osamu sighed and got out of his bed, all on his own, might he add, and smiled at his brother. "I've never been more ready."
