Adved's pov

I smiled at her flushed face.

"Forehead kiss won't work, Adrija."

Before she could come up with another excuse, I leaned closer and pressed a soft kiss to the tip of her nose.

She immediately scrunched it up, looking away shyly.

I couldn't help smiling.

Then I kissed her cheek.

And the other one.

Her forehead.

The corner of her temple.

Each kiss was slow and gentle, giving her every chance to move away.

But she didn't.

Instead, she kept lowering her eyes, her fingers lightly clutching the fabric of my kurta.

That tiny gesture told me more than words ever could.

She wanted me close.

So I stayed close.

I brushed another strand of hair away from her face and looked at her for a moment.

Her cheeks were flushed, and she was trying very hard not to meet my eyes.

"Adrija..."

She finally looked at me.

I smiled and pressed one more soft kiss against her cheek.

She smiled despite herself.

I slowly moved closer, letting the moment linger, and placed gentle kisses along the side of her neck.

She immediately became still, her shyness deepening.

I paused for a second, giving her the space to stop me if she wanted.

She didn't.

Instead, her hand found mine.

And that was enough.

I smiled against her skin, holding her gently as the noise of the entire day finally seemed to disappear.

For the first time since morning, there were no rituals, no relatives, no teasing cousins.

Just her.

Just me.

She hugged me tightly.

I smiled and asked, "I can hear your heartbeat even while hugging you."

She pushed herself further into me and said nothing.

After a moment, she murmured, "Adved, today was so hectic, haina?"

I patted her head gently.

"Yes."

I looked at her jewellery and smiled. "You can change, Adrija. This must be feeling so heavy and uncomfortable after wearing it all day."

She nodded.

"But this is our suhaagraat, isn't it?"

She looked at me with sudden confidence.

"Toh you should be the one to remove everything from me."

Suddenly, she started acting all bold.

I smirked.

"Why not, my lady love?"

I began removing her jewellery one piece at a time.
