Sunday arrived faster than Sunoo expected.
And along with that, Taesan’s birthday.
Sunoo stood in front of the mirror one last time, smoothing down his top and adjusting the collar, Jake’s voice from yesterday echoing in his head. *Relax. You look great.*
He took a deep breath, grabbed his phone, and headed out.
The gate creaked open softly as he stepped outside—and then he froze.
Jungwon was already there, leaning casually against his car, dressed in black and dark blue. The dark shades suited him almost *too* well, sharp yet effortless, like he hadn’t even tried.
Sunoo’s heart skipped before he could stop it.
Jungwon looked up—and smiled.
“Woah,” he said, eyes sweeping over Sunoo in open appreciation. “You look… really good.”
Sunoo felt warmth bloom across his cheeks. “Y-You too,” he replied quickly, then paused and smiled shyly. “Actually—no. You look *handsome*. Like, unfairly so.”
Jungwon laughed softly, clearly pleased. “I’ll take that.”
He then stepped closer, lowering his voice just a little. “I’m glad you wore this. It suits you.”
For a brief moment, the world narrowed down to just the two of them—soft smiles, stolen glances, that quiet, almost-romantic bubble forming so naturally between them.
“Are you two planning to stand there all night or what?!”
The moment shattered instantly.
“Get in already! We’re gonna be late!”
Sunoo startled, blinking. “Huh—?”
Jungwon sighed under his breath, clearly amused, and nodded toward the car.
In the front seat, right beside the driver, sat Niki—seatbelt half on, leg bouncing impatiently as he leaned forward to look out the window. The moment he spotted Sunoo, his expression lit up.
“Sunoo, hyung!” Niki called out brightly. “Hi! Finally!”
Sunoo stared at him, completely taken aback. “Niki?? What are *you* doing here?”
Jungwon caught the surprise on Sunoo’s face and let out a small chuckle as he opened the back door. “He didn’t want to go alone,” he explained. “So, he insisted on tagging along.”
“Insisted?” Sunoo echoed.
Niki scoffed, turning around in his seat as much as he could. “Correction—I *refused* to be left behind.” He grinned. “Also, you look nice. Took you long enough.”
Sunoo laughed, shaking his head. “I didn’t know you were coming.”
“Neither did I,” Jungwon muttered fondly, then glanced at Sunoo again. “But he promised to behave.”
