A Giant Hiccup (Reader Insert)

Getting Started

(BOOM! Surprise chapter! Sorry for keeping you all waiting. Hope you enjoy!)

In the morning, Stoick made his leave and now (Y/N) is in her hut as she cracks her knuckles. "Alright, Midnight!" She exclaims, said dragon is in the doorway as she listens to her friend, "It's time to start the process." (Y/N) states. (Oooh~) She places her bag on the table and takes out the three ingredients; the orange flower, a jug filled with water from Glacier Island and leaves from the tree kin to Yggdrasil. She smiles at the memory when she told Fishlegs and Snotlout how it had a relation to THE World Tree. (I do my research.)

She snaps her fingers as she summons a ball of fire and has it float above the table to the side as she grabs an agate mortar and pestle that had layers of shades of yellow and places it before her. She reaches into a pouch and takes out some red rocks, putting them in the mortar and takes the pestle as she starts grinding them.

Astrid arrives and stands in the doorway, she was about to announce herself but halts doing so as she watches (Y/N) work. The (H/C)-haired witch finish grinding the rocks into dust then takes the jug of water and pours it in then takes a small metal stand as she places it above the floating fire and sets the mortar on it. She takes another bowl and sets it down, "You can help me instead of starring at me." Astrid blinks, "Oh, sorry. I just didn't want to interrupt you." She says as she walks over to stand beside (Y/N).

"It's cool. I could use the help." (Y/N) says and takes out another bowl, setting down in front of Astrid. She takes out another bottle, the leaves and some berries, "Here. All you have to do is crush the leaves, squish the berries and pour the elixir in this bowl and mix them up real good." She instructs, taking out some tongs as she picks up the flower with it. Astrid nods her head and grabs the leaves first as she grinds them in her hands until they crumble and she drops them in the bowl. (Y/N) places another pestle beside the bowl for Astrid to use. "So... all this will change Hiccup back to normal?" Astrid asks, putting berries in the bowl. "You would think that, but extraction of essence is one heck of a process." (Y/N) replies.

Astrid pours the elixir into the bowl then grabs the pestle as she starts to squish the berries and mix the concoction, "What else do you have to do?" She asks. (Y/N) checks the agate mortar to find it bubbling and uses her magic to levitate it as (F/C) whisps surround it as it floats. "Well, I would need Hiccup's blood and cast an enchantment that will require absolute focus!" She tells Astrid as she stares directly at her and points a finger in the air. (As in: SILENCE!) Astrid halts her mixing as she leans back a little. "But it should be fine so long as NO distractions are made." (Y/N) adds. "Oh, that looks good." She says. Astrid blinks and holds up the pestle.

(Y/N) snaps her finger as the fireball went out and moves her agate mortar above the bowl, pouring the red liquid into it. The liquid shifts into a blue mixture, "Okay, might wanna back up for this part." (Y/N) tells Astrid. She then drops the flower into the liquid and the two step back as the liquid bubbles more, "Here we go~" (Y/N) smiles. Astrid looks at her with a sideway glance. *POOF* (💥) Then jumps a little as a large cloud of orange erupts from the mortar and disperses as sparkles glimmer in the air before vanishing. (🧡✨)

The two walk over and look into the bowl to find the liquid a golden hue. "Whoa." Astrid breathes out. "Eee." (Y/N) claps her hands as she picks it up and holds it in the air like something holy, "Now, it needs to bathe in the light of the full moon. Which is tonight!" She says. (Huh, lucky timing. 🌕) "And then what?" Astrid asks. (Y/N) looks at her, "Then we prepare a site for the ritual." She answers. Astrid nods her head, "You know, when Hiccup disappeared, I was really worried." She says.

(Y/N) lowers the bowl down to the table as she gives Astrid her attention, "Hiccup has done a lot of good and saw me for more than just what others expected me to be. But I can tell your friendship with him means a lot to you, and I've never seen anyone do as much for him as you have." Astrid frowns after saying that and looks away as she rubs the back of her neck.

"What I'm saying is, you're good for him." She says. (Y/N) tilts her head, "You liked him more than just a friend." She says. Astrid looks at her in surprise but nods her head, "Yeah. And I did kiss him sometimes, but I think we work better as friends." She confesses. (Y/N) smiles and places a hand on her shoulder, "He is lucky to have you as a friend." She says. Astrid smiles, "And we're all lucky to have you." She says. (Y/N) blinks from that and pulls her hand back but smiles back at Astrid and nods her head. (Aww~ ☺️)
