Chapter 31:- My baby is so cute
Chapter 31
Shreyas' POV
I went downstairs to get something light for her to eat, only to find Maa already busy in the kitchen, carefully arranging food on a plate.
"Acha hua tu aa gaya," she said the moment she noticed me. She placed a glass of juice on the tray and turned to face me.
"Yeh le ja, aur ache se khila dena usse. Meri bachi ne bohot kuch saha hai. Ab ek aanch tak nahi aane dungi main uski taraf."
Her voice was firm, protective , almost fierce.
I nodded, not trusting myself to say anything. The condition in which we had found Nayan was far from normal, and everyone in the house knew it.
Even if no one said it out loud, they all understood, she was dealing with something far deeper than just physical pain.
Picking up the tray from the kitchen platform, I walked through the living room, Maa following closely behind.
"Mom, Dad... I need to talk to you both about something," I said, stopping near the staircase.
Dad looked up from the newspaper. "Haan beta, but pehle jaakar Nayan ko khila do."
I nodded again and headed upstairs. Reaching her room, I knocked lightly before pushing the door open.
Nayan was still clinging to her brother, her face buried in his chest, while Arush gently stroked her back, murmuring something soothing under his breath.
"Ahem... ahem," I cleared my throat softly to get their attention.
Arush looked up, then his eyes shifted to the tray in my hands. Understanding immediately, he smiled gently.
"Nini, pehle thoda sa kha lo," he said, slowly pulling away from her hug and cupping her face. "Baad mein hum baat karenge, ok."
She nodded faintly.
Her eyes were swollen and puffy from crying, her hair messy and tangled, and exhaustion was written all over her face. Seeing her like that made my chest ache.
I placed the tray on the bed as Arush quietly left the room, giving us some space.
Sitting beside her, I adjusted the pillows behind her back, helping her sit comfortably.
"Dekho, Mom ne specially tumhare liye banaya hai," I said softly, bringing the tray closer. "Tum jaanti ho na, woh tumse kitna pyaar karti hain. Kabhi-kabhi toh mujhe tumse jealousy hone lagti hai, Nayan."
I took a spoonful of food, blew on it lightly to cool it down, and brought it closer to her lips.
She looked at me... then at the spoon... and after a brief pause, opened her mouth and took the bite.
My heart eased a little.
I fed her a few more spoonfuls before she finally spoke, hesitantly, as if the question had been sitting in her mind for a while.
"Aap... aap nahi khayenge?"
My heart melted all over again. Even in this condition, she was worried about me.
"Main baad mein kha lunga," I replied gently. "Pehle tumko ko khila doon."
I lifted the spoon again, but this time she turned her face away. Instead, she slowly redirected the spoon towards me with her injured hand.
"Saath mein kha lijiye," she said softly. "Hume akele khana acha nahi lagta you know na."
There was so much innocence and quiet hope in her voice that I couldn't refuse.
