The city below the boss's office glowed in the evening sun. Dazai sat aloneat his desk with his arms crossed, his smirk so subtle that it was almostnonexistent. There was a faint darkness in his eyes as he gazed at the spacebetween this world and the next.
"It's finally time to start phase four," Dazai muttered hoarsely as hestood from his desk. "Let's do this."His light footsteps echoed as he crossed the room before opening a doorand vanishing from his office.
"Why do you sound like some perverted creep?" Chuuya asked annoyed.
"And when are you going to stop speaking in riddles?" Yosano added
"You both are just too stupid to understand it." Dazai said shrugging. Big mistake. Let's just say, having an angry ginger head who was your ex partner and an angry psyco doctor who kills and heal people is not the best idea. Guess we won't be hearing from dazai anytime soon.
Akutagawa and Atsushi traversed the building together. It was a bizarrespectacle. The Mafia guards drew their guns on them—once. But the guardswere unable to do it a second time. Nobody had the courage. After all, asilent death was everywhere the Port Mafia's White Reaper walked. Hedidn't even order them to lower their weapons, nor did he instruct anyone tonot harm the intruder. Atsushi was simply present, quietly walking throughthe premises. However, every seasoned Mafia soldier, each of whom livedin a world of only violence and domination, instinctively understood:Anyone who even thought of attacking Atsushi or the intruder would bekilled before they could pull the trigger."The Port Mafia's White Reaper" wasn't a name given to Atsushi by hisenemies. It was given to him by his Mafia colleagues.
"Tch this weakling?" Akutgawa asked pointing to Atsushi.
"No this guy." Beast Akutagawa corrected him pointing to Beast Atsushi.
"Yah, I can fight very well too." Atsushi grumbled.
The shadowy beast from hell who was prisoner to an emotion hecouldn't identify. The one who spread white death wherever he went.Once his switch was flipped, he would bring death to anyone in his way,be they friend or foe. He was a god of a world beyond any and allcomprehension—the White Reaper.
"I'm gonna use this stairwell to go back down to the first floor," saidTanizaki, who had remained invisible until Akutagawa and Atsushi reachedthe emergency staircase. After readjusting Kyouka over his shoulder tocarry her more easily, he earnestly advised, "Be careful, Akutagawa."
"I will," Akutagawa said with a nod. "You can release the girl once Igive you the signal. Until then, remain hidden so nobody can find you."
"Got it."Atsushi stared at Tanizaki with a stonelike expression, but the WhiteReaper didn't utter a single word. As he walked down the staircase,Tanizaki looked back once more.
"Akutagawa," he called.
"What is it?"
"Earlier, I said the difference between us was that I'm a detective andyou're not." Tanizaki hesitantly glanced up at Akutagawa. "But that's notquite right. You're a detective, too, now. And if you find yourselfconfronted with a difficult decision on the top floor, I want you toremember that."
"And that attitude is what gets you people killed easily." Tachihara said smirking
"You want to test that boy?" Yosano asked, still angry from her conversation with dazai.
Tachihara's eyes darkened but he didn't say anything which raised both Gin and Hirotsu's suspicion. It wasn't like the boy to stay quiet. He was hot headed.
