"Long time no see?" I repeated to the man as I approached him. "Have wemet?"

"Tch. No matter what universe, I still hate you." Chuuya said making Oda look at him in confusion.

"Have I done something wrong?" he whispered to Koyou.

"Chuuya-kun is bitter that Dazai left the port-mafia because you asked him. He'll come around don't worry." Koyou whispered back making the man nod.

The young man, who was waiting for me at the bar, wore a mellowsmile that seemed so natural on him.

"No. This is the first time," he replied while clinking the ice in his glass."First time I've ever been to this bar, first time I ever drank here, and thefirst time you and I have ever met here, Odasaku."

"I thought you said the activities of Beast Dazai has nothing to do with?" Chuuya asked Dazai.

"Listen chibi, I may have created that world and because of it Beast Dazai has my memory but that doesn't mean that I control his actions. He's like a clone. Similar to me but we are not the same person." he explained.

I looked around the bar once more. The walls stained with cigarettesmoke, the pillars that had turned almost completely black with age, theliquor cabinet and lights: Nothing could escape the long, long passage oftime. It was a small bar. Cramped. A customer could barely walk throughthe place without bumping into someone else. Every piece that contributedto the bar's ambience was quiet and intimate. It was a space created forspending time alone with someone in secret.Jazz softly played in the background. It was a song about aheartbreaking farewell. Not a bad place for a drink but not quite the sort ofplace you'd go if you were about to betray the Mafia.

"Let me ask you a question." Something was bothering me. "Is'Odasaku' my new nickname or something?"

"Yep." The young man smiled hesitantly. "Nobody's ever called you thatbefore?"

"No one," I honestly replied. Most people I know call me Oda. Iwould've remembered if someone gave me such a weird nickname.

"Yeah cuz he piss you off so much that you'll remember him for a lifetime." Chuuya said scoffing but he was surprised that he did not recieve any reply. He turned to look at the brunette only to see his eyes filled with sadness.

Chuuya wanted to comfort him but at the same wanted to smack him because of the irritation that was suddenly filling him.

'Why the hell am I feeling irritated? It's not like it's the first time he chose Oda over him' he thought to himself scoffing.

'Am I feeling jealous? Hah no way.' he thought to himself before he resumed to watch.

The man turned away from me, lowered his gaze, and smiled. He wasn'tsmiling at me. He was smiling for himself. But it seemed forced as if he hadno idea what kind of expression to make. What a strange guy.

"Anyway, have a seat, Odasaku." He pointed to the counter seat next tohim. "What's your poison?"

"I'll have a gimlet. No bitters."I sat one seat away from where he'd pointed to. Just in case. Afterstaring at the empty spot next to him as if he was reflecting on something,he walked over to the other side of the counter and started making a drink. He then introduced himself as Dazai. After returning to his seat, Dazai raised his glass into the air as if to say

"Cheers," but I didn't return the gesture. I didn't even take a sip of my owndrink. After all, I still needed to see if this man was worth trusting.Dazai drank alone for some time after that. Only the sound of the iceclinking in his glass—a substitute for words—filled the air.
